Bella Oasis Hotel, Homosassa Springs

Booked 2 non-smoking rooms. One stunk of cigarette and the other, unmistakably, of FECES! How my travelling companions tolerated that stench all night is, in my opinion, testement to the fact that we arrived late, and had had a very long day. The good here starts and ends with the price and the location. Didn't try the restaurant, so no comment about that. It is close to all of the spectacular recreation sites we came for. Rooms are dingy, poorly maintained, and in serious need of renovation. Hotel style A/C was noisy and inefficient. Even at high and coldest setting still didn't get the room very cool. Window curtains barely cover the window leaving the room quite light from outside lighting. Rooms had microwaves and mini fridge, but still are seriously in need of repairs. Didn't get even 3 hours sleep due to stink, noise and light. Also, sensed a slight moldy odo, which might explain why my room came with a portable dehumidifier. If the shower had hot water, I couldn't find it. The "continental" breakfast was worthless. Coffee was room temperature. Dirty dining area with old waffle on floor under table. White bread for toast, some mystery, orange-colored fluid for juice, make your own waffles, sugary danishes, and cheerios were the offerings. If you usually "carb up" for breakfast, it would do, but I could not find 1 protein, fresh fruit, or fresh vegetable. No attendent and dimly lighted "dining" area. In my 2 decades of experience in the hotel business, I would stop wasting money on this, or would add some healthy offerings such as some seasonal fruit, yogurt, or even boiled eggs. Hot, fresh coffee is a must. It would take some extreme circumstances for me to stay here again, and only then, if I did not need to get much sleep. It pains me to write this review as this place has a great location, a huge pool, and the potential to ring the bell with some updates and a few changes. I will also concede that this area, like much of Florida, has been very hard hit by the protracted recession.

Brenda and the staff are ALLL WONDERFUL. The owners friendly and nice and cleaning gals bent over backwards to please. The Breakfast was just fine with fresh coffee, waffles, cereal, toast, juice and fruit. The location was good and the resturant was just fine. We have stayed here before and would return in a min, PLUS it is so close to Homasssa Springs Wildlife park , and has a pool. The price is RIGHT We had a great Vacation Thank you staff

Beds were extremely uncomfortable. Only a few TV stations to choose from. Housekeeping removed my personal belongings, most of which were returned. Management refused to reimburse me for the items they did not return, even though I had a receipt. The shower and coffee pot were not cleaned and there were cockroaches in the bathroom.

no one seems to know whats going on here we checked in on tues - sun paid for our stay and sat night a clerk came to throw us out banging on the door at 12 am said we owed another night wow this was crazy was their mistake and when i offered to pay he said no just get out he was nasty and mean spirited this place is amatuer at best decor is dated and staff needs to be trained was the worst experience of my lifetime traveling ill never go back this staff should be ashamed of themselves

They keep raising the prices. In June 2009, they quoted me $79 for a Sat night. This is, at best, a $45 a night place. Old, run down, tired looking, not the cleanest, either. I have stayed here at least a half dozen times in the last year or so for business because of the location, but now at $79, there ain't no way. Try Crystal River a bit to the north instead. It has never been a place I looked forward to staying and sure wouldn't want to spend any vacation time there. It is not a resort, it is not a spa. It is not bella and it sure isn't an oasis. They give you free continental breakfast, ha ha, the joke's on you! Worst looking cheapest food I have seen anywhere. Stale looking pastries is about it.

I was expecting a luxury hotel, but this place was not as nice as the pictures. It is run-down and old and has not been kept up well. It is the closest to the Wildlife Park, but there are other hotels in Homosassa or Crystal River that are close and nicer. My family of 4 was ready to leave after we went to the wildlife park, which is very nice.

I only stayed 2 nights but it was just right for what I needed. The room was spotless and I had a "dog" room for my Chihuahua. The restaurant was good for breakfast and that is the only negative. Wish it had been open for dinner. How wonderful to be able to walk to the WildLife Park from there. I'd return!

The Bella Oasis has a very deceiving name. And not just the words "bella" and "oasis". It is more of a motel than a hotel - all the rooms are on the outside. Although I was told my room was "newly renovated", the intense stench of stale smoke is what greeted me upon first opening the door. The walls may have been painted, and the mattress may have been replaced, but the towels were gray with age, the entire room stunk, and there was actually a humidifier in the room, an indication that it was damp and uninhabitable. This property has so much potential - it does have a spa right next door, and the spa is clean, professional and well-run. It is also steps away from the wildlife park, a definite plus. But the rooms are just not nice. I checked out after one night of my planned 2-night excursion because the smell of the room was just so awful and there were stains on one of the blankets on the bed. No one in the world who would want to stay at a "hotel & spa" would want to stay at this property. But if you are a chain-smoking plebeian who will be drunk each night before bedtime... then you will probably want to pay less than $120/night for a room.

We were very excited when we found this hotel next to the Wild Animal State Park. We felt the convenient location would be great for our trip there the following morning. What a disappointment. We were told we would have a King bed with sofa in a large room, and instead were put in a standard room with double beds. A sad way to start our Honeymoon. At eight o'clock another guest started running up and down the balcony area shouting to friends in the parking lot. His beer bottles were still sitting in the stairwell the next morning. The air conditioner was outdated and had no temperature control, so our choice was to either listen to it's loud noise nonstop all night or shut it off completely. Not good at 90 degrees. The worst was our discovery the next morning that the box springs on the bed was torn and covered with mold. We checked out as quickly as possible and will not stay there again.

I ordered rooms for my husband & I and my daughter & her husband. We arrived rather late and after eating at a fastfood restaurant we decided to say goodnight as we had to be up early to swim with the manatees. The hotel & room seemed a little run-down, but if the rooms were clean, we could accept it. Getting ready for bed I rec'd a call from my daughter asking if i had seen the bed. They noticed that the bottom sheet didn't appear to be very tidy and after looking carefully they discovered black hairs in the bed. I said I'd be right there and decided to check ours. Sure enough...the same problem! Black body hairs in our bed too! We complained, got another room which was okay, but still was run-down and unclean on the floors of the room & bathroom.The breakfast was awful...We checked that day even though we had reservations for 2 nights.
