DO NOT STAY HERE!
By Jennifer Milian, 4/16/12
Extremely overpriced, rooms are not clean, the atmosphere is cold and uncomfortable, the walls are paper thin-you can hear everything, there was only one towel in the bathroom and we booked the room for two adults. HORRIBLE!

Ruined our vacation
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/2/12
My wife and I had an absolutely horrible experience at this hotel on New Year’s Eve. We booked our reservation on Priceline and received a confirmation number but the hotel refused to honor our confirmation. The excuse the hotel management gave was that they were overbooked, but that was a lie because I overheard the check-in clerk discuss multiple room options with another guest. We met 3 other couples that were in the same situation as us and it turns out that the hotel was not accepting Priceline reservations because they could get higher room rates by booking their rooms to last minute customers over the phone. I can tell you from first-hand experience that the hotel management is unethical, untrustworthy and lie directly to their customers. I do not recommend this hotel to anyone and will be contacting the Better Business Bureau to submit a complaint. If you plan on staying in the area there are many other similar hotels within the same price range such as the Courtyard Marriot about 2 miles North on Collins Ave. Do not do business with this company and risk ruining your vacation.

Terrible....don't do it
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/14/11
Staff was rude on the phone prior to the visit and in person. The hotel appears nice from the outside and the lobby is clean and modern. However, the room are disgusting. The carpet is not just stained, but old and dirty. There are bugs and mold in the rooms. The blankets are crusty with fresh spills. There is a $19/day amenities fee. If you would prefer 2 double beds to 1 king bed there is a $25/day fee. If you would like a refrigerator in your room it is an extra $20 per day. You are not permitted to use the luggage carts on your own. The parking is $45 per day. The ice machine on our floor was broken. I reported it right after check in and it was still broken when we left 4 days later. The conceirge knew nothing about local public transportation. They nickle and dime you to death. The restaurant and bars were terrible over priced. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. The good: free internet access, right on the beach with chairs, towels, and umbrellas for guests, 2 pools that looked clean but were very small. it's very close to a great shopping and restaurant area.

Overpriced, Raggedy, but close to the beach
By Carrie, 7/28/09
First off it is close to the beach And if that's all you care about then this hotel is great. BUT if you are expecting a clean room and great service you better think twice. My room had a chair with torn upholstery, A down comforter with down missing , A comforter with a big yellow stain on it, markings on the lamp shade, dirty carpet, scratched and worn desk chairs and table. My room had what one might call a terrace that overlooked the beach. This was nice.. However the terrace was only wide enough to stand on but not wide enough for a chair. On several occasions the key card did not work. There is a new section and an old section of the hotel . I got the old section and paid ( After taxes and resort fees, which were required) over 200 a night. Mind you I am not a picky traveler but this was a 80 dollar hotel that was charging 200 bucks because of its location to the beach. Keep in mind that this is a public beach. There were plenty of beach chairs and umbrellas that the hotel guest have access to ,but no one checked that we were guest of the hotel so anyone could have requested the chairs. The hotel does have a small pool, actually two small pools on different levels but it does not have a hottub. There is a bar located by the pool as well as inside bar. There is a restaurant in the hotel. The only parking available at the hotel is Valet parking which is 40 dollars a night. I stayed at this hotel for a family reunion and according to other family membersI got one of the better rooms Other people had mattresses where you could feel the springs, One person had a room where you could hear the toilet rumbling all night. Not all rooms had terraces. And rooms were not always cleaned in a timely manner. Sometimes rooms were not cleaned until 2 or 3 pm Though on a good note I will say that all of the staff was friendly and tried to be helpful. It's just that the hotell is way overpriced.

I will never consider this hotel again!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/19/09
Well i didnt see any extraordinary things during my stay on 14th and 15th May,2009 which needs to be appreciated! However I have valid reasons to dislike this as what i dont like was that staff is not responsive and not caring atall rather careless!I stayed in room 544(non smoking)but when I arrived in the room it was stinking with full of smell of smoking!I saw one ashtray was lying with full of butts which shocked me!Called front desk and desired to speak to the GM of the Hotel, was told unavailable, i asked for deputy also unavailable! It was shocking to know the attitude of the staff, as I believe tht smoking(whosoever) could be fire hazardous.Later someone from Hkeeping came and saw not even cigarette butts but also dirty room! But Not even for the sake of courtesy or customer satisfaction none of the senior personnel from the Hotel care to speak to me on this issue!!! Therefore it seems tht senior people of this hotel plays with the life of customers and take their customers for granted, who allows smoking in non smoking rooms and dont care to rectify it nor they are able to pacify the customers!!! Travellers should think twice before staying or even thinking of staying at this Hotel!!! As far as I am concerned I work for the Travel Industry and will never ever suggest Royal Palm Hotel to No one!!

Do Not Stay Here!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/15/08
Worst Hotel let me start of by saying the Valet parking charges $40 a day yes that's right $40 a day and the day you check out is also charged for the full $40. I went last weekend & they didn't mention hotel was being renavated so instead of a two bedroom suite we got a king bed and a hide away bed these where the only rooms available. Our toilet and A/C was broken. This hotel cost a lot of money for nothing. Everyone was so rude. I arrived very late & didn't have pillows or blankets so I called down to get it and the service man who came to my room asked me "is there anything else your going to need because it's almost 4:00 in the morning?" and when i asked the lady at the desk how her night was she said "it sucks" This place was horrible I wouldn't recommend it to an enemy! So many hidden fees room was so gross. Do not stay here if you don't have to book another hotel it may be a nice area but there are a lot others in this same area this one was teribble nothing about it was good.

Disgusting....don't stay here.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/22/08
I travel a lot for business and have not had a single complaint in the last 2 years about any hotel I've stayed in until now... Do not stay at the Royal Palm hotel. There is nothing royal about the experience. The housekeeping staff was inattentive; they did not refill the toilet roll, the hairdryer and phones didn't work and the hallways were extremely noisy. Plus I was in a room that connected to another and I could literally hear every movement made by the people next store. The staff was kind enough to move me in to a quieter room, but I soon realized that the wear and tear that I thought was just in my original room was in fact, in every room. Of course hundreds of people have occupied the hotel rooms before your stay, but this was the first time I've ever seen a hotel allow the physical damage remain in the room from previous guests. The walls were scuffed, the furniture had several scratches and dents, the TV didn't work in one of my rooms and there was a piece of tape left on the sheets of the bed. This was truly a disgusting experience.... To top it off, the hotel tacks on an additional $19.00 for a "resort fee". I'm sorry but shouldn't the rate for the room include such luxuries like wireless internet and access to the pool??? This is Miami in 2008!! (Besides the pool was the smallest pool I've every seen) All and all it was a very unpleasant experience. Stay at the Lowes next store...now that’s a resort experience.

Never again
By Susanna, 5/26/08
The hotel was well situated, but the rooms were really small and for the price that we paid we should have gotten something nicer. The staff was stuckup and very unhelpfull, even the bartender at the poolbar was really rude. One of the bellmen tricked us into taking a taxi which he said would cost us 20-30 USD but we ended up paying 88 due to his misstake, and they weren´t at all helpfull when we complained about this at the front desk. I will never go back!

Location is good
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/11/08
I stay in January 2008 and used Priceline to book a two night stay. When I got there and attempted to check in, they didnt have my reservation. Apparently the person responsible for entering the Priceline reservations into the computer was behind. I was asked to wait in the lobby bar for approx 30 minutes. Although the bar was nice and the wait was not unreasonable, the price for one cocktail was $15. For a vodka and pineapple juice! Not a big glass, a small high ball glass (8 oz). EXPENSIVE EXTRA HIDDEN FEES- The resort also charged a resort fee of $29 a day for towels by the pool and I cant remeber what else it was for. They also charge extra $39 a day for parking! So my Priceline fee really didnt save me any money. The room we were given was decent , two rooms, seperated by a door. Room was a little dirty and the carpets were stained. bathroom extremely small. Some good points are that the pool area and access to the beach is great!
