wait, wait, and more waiting
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/02/10
location is great. forget about being treated like someone special there, you are just a customer. the bartender was all by herself, ignorned me, and served others who walked in after me, needless to say it was very frustrating. breakfast was great for us, but we did see others who didn't get the same type of service. be ready to ask for what you need. do not expect the staff to anticipate what you are needing.

Service is atrocious
By Mad, 05/10/06
Not such a wonderful day at the Riverside Hotel. Gift shop staff was rude and service in general is poor. Good location and food would go farther if service was there to match,

Nice location, but forget breakfast there!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/26/06
The Riverside Hotel was the choice of a group visiting from Tampa, Florida. We loved the location & dinner choices within walking distance. We found our rooms in the original section charming. But, when it came to breakfast, a 50-minute wait for service while seated at an outside table is unexceptable! Many tables around us were serviced & food brought out. I know the work force is lacking, but a waiter with an attitude is untolerable!! Again, we were from Florida, not fly-by tourists!! It was most unfortunate & left a bad taste-in-the-mouth to an otherwise nice stay!

WELL LOCATED
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/11/05
I have stayed at the Riverside seven times for at least one week each stay and have nothing but praise for the hotel. It is very well located for those who are not interested in beaches. Restaurants in the area are not out of this world but are good. I definitely recommend the Riverside.

Hmm...Maybe it was just a bad weekend, but...
By Shannon, 08/30/05
I know that you get what you pay for, so I can't complain about the quality too much. Just know that the rooms are old, and yes, they may smell a little funny. The hotel is in a great location, you are near the trendy restaurants and little boutiques. Bars are nearby, and there is outside seating for the hotel bar. I would not call the beach walking distance, but it is close. My only real complaint was the service. Overall it was good with the exception of one thing. Twice during our stay, the fire alarm went off in the middle of the night. The buildings were evacuated--I am talking like 4 am. We waited outside and waited. No one ever notified us that we could go back inside. The staff went back to work as usual, leaving all of the guests waiting for their okay in the thunder and lightening and rain--did I mention it was 4am?? Mind you, this happened twice within 2 days. For this reason I would choose this hotel again, but like I said, maybe it was just a bad weekend.

Excellent stay
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/15/05
The Hotel is located at Las Olas, a great place for fine dining and drinks. It is just opposite to the riverside, where you could easily take a water-taxi to everwhere of the city. We were staying at the Executive Tower, room is clean and service is good. The complimentary continental breakfast with orange juice is just an impressive start of the day
