WORST HOTEL EVER!!!!!!!!!

DO NOT EVER stay at the Marriott Residence Inn on Dix Ellis Trail (Baymeadows area) in Jacksonville, FL. Our stay there was beyond awful, it was musty and dirty, the manager and ENTIRE staff are extremely rude and they did not tell us upon check-in that they would be jack-hammering right outside our room at 7am and closing the pool for renovations (during our vacation!) We had to change hotels. Then when we called to try to get Rewards Points credited back because our stay was so miserable, they gave us the run-around and were very sarcastic and rude until they finally gave us 15,000 points (which is nothing for what we had to go through). I would recommend that no one EVER stay at this horrible hotel. So disappointing for a Marriott property. They should be shut down.

Great stay!

This hotel is conveniently located off of a major highway. Despite this, noise from the highway was not an issue at all. In addition, there are over fifty restaurants with-in a mile of the hotel. Check-in and check-out were very easy and parking was convenient. The rooms were great and recently updated. They were comfortable and neatly prepared. The basketball court was fun to use. There was also a deck and a nice swimming pool which we did not use. There was a hot breakfast buffet that was very good in the morning. In the evening, one of the staff members made some cookies that were very tasty. I definitely recommend this hotel. It is a great value. I will stay there again if I am ever in the area.

Super place! Service is fabulous!

I have never seen a hotel staff be more hospitable and make such efforts to cater to their guests. My son was playing basketball with a new friend on the sports court and one of the staff volunteered to make the winner cookies. Well of course the boys "tied" and the staff member came out of the gatehouse with cookies and sodas for all. The staff seems to really try to remember us as people and cater to what we really need (or didn't know we needed!) In our case, its extra towels and pillows just because we mentioned it would be nice when a staff member was in earshot.

The accomadations are cozy, well maintained and lovely. What separates this place is the dedication and friendliness of the staff. Well worth the price!!
