Treat yourself to something better.

The moment we drove into the hotel (after missing the entrance the first time), we immediately began envying the people living in the brightly-colored hotels to the sides of us. Our hotel just looked like an old box. The elevator and the halls didnt have enough, if any, air-conditioning.
The room itself was cool, but only in terms of temperature. The design of the furniture was probably going for the aged and rusty look and it succeeded! They looked like old pieces of carved bones with a crackled finish. Our room looks eighty percent similar to the one in the picture posted on this site. It's probably because it was on a different floor but the carpet was a checkers-board of one-by-one blue and yellow squares. It was probably new and part of their renovation after the poor reviews. Despite this, the carpet had a big red stain that was pretty disturbing. It didn't have any of the plant things and the chair was a computer chair that didn't fit under the table. The refrigerator door opens fine but is a bit trickier to close. The ledge of the cabinet gets in the way so you have to push it with some effort or just kick it. The bathroom is small and didn't feel clean. The shower didn't drain quick enough so my feet would always be under three inches of water. The beds looked and felt like it was hit by a crater. They should replace them. Its not good for the back.
What bothered me the most though occured during the blackout. The hallways on every floor were lit only by the grey sky and one lamp except for my floor. It had lights on only one side of the hallway above the individual room doors. We were on the other side. The keys didn't work because something was wrong with the key system. People had to come to our room to open it for us. It was early evening and we were lucky to have some emergency lighting, but those soon went out (very soon). Luckily, power was back when we returned from dinner, but we needed to bring our key to the front desk to reset. The location of the hotel is great, but if you're already expecting a costly trip through the theme parks, restaurants, and plane tickets, why not pay the extra more for an enjoyable and comfortable stay (that means not here). You get that feeling of a harsh return to reality everytime you get back to the room from a theme park.
By the way, you have to pay an extra $5 per day "resort fee" for the tennis court, green swimming pools and the "free parking".
