***The Heist Regency***
Very nice looking Hotel from inside and out, but there's a thief working amongst the many cleaning ladies. I stayed here on a business trip and like always I took a camera for my free time in town site seeing. I left for one morning and when I came back into the room I noticed a couple of items missing from my room. 1. Boxer shorts 2. My camera 3. An extra room key. I notified the Manager staff of the issue and they stated they would conduct an "investigation" they stated that the cleaning lady never saw the items (when she was the only one aside myself entering and leaving the room) they stated she had been working there for over 20 years and she's never had any issues with them. I then ask the front desk Manager to not allow anyone else into my room for the rest of my stay and guess what...I leave the room for a couple of hours and THE CLEANING lady comes back in and guess now whats missing mysteriously... MY SNICKERS bar that I had bought the day before to satisfy my sweet tooth. I called again and spoke to the Manager and they replaced the Candy bars with Milkey Ways, who in the world eats Milkey Ways? At the end of the investigation I was "given" a $60.00 inconvenience credit to my room which I had to use since thats all they were willing to do. Overall I lost a very expensive camera, a nice pair of Boxer shorts, snicker bar and probably the cleaning ladies boyfriend is probably wearing my boxers while eating the snickers and taking pictures to upload them onto FB... WORSE EXPERIENCE OF A LIFETIME. MAKE SURE TO KEEP ALL YOUR BELONGINGS IN A SAFE AND PUT THE PRIVACY NOTICE OUTSIDE YOUR DOOR OR ELSE YOU WILL GET YOUR STUFF STOLEN BY THE CLEANING CREW AS WELL!!!!!

A gem
Where to begin? Room is clean and large, this is a legacy hotel of the area which Hyatt is attempting to keep at top-notch level, and I think they have done so. From the door-people opening the door to getting our luggage to the room to the desk clerk to the valet to the housekeeper--smiles, thank you's, can I help you's--to the style, it was an all round terrific experience. The support personnel all bent over backward to be accomodating. The only level of service that has come close has been on the cruise ships. All the staff, many of whom are Hispanic, spoke English well, so I can only guess that the writer who complained of a language issue had their own issues with the Queen's English. Room service was quick and the prices reasonable--the turkey club sandwich had taste to it as did the crab bisque soup. Even the fries were good 4 hours later LOL. Hotel lobby evinces the leisure of Coral Gables of yester-year with the modern furnishing. Location also terrific, with plenty of shopping, stores, restaurants, banks etc. at the hub of Coral Gables which means the convenience but without being in the middle of a densely packed big city. Pool is clean. Coconut Grove is just a few miles away and South Beach about 30 minutes away. Close to major roads, maybe 20 min from the airport, 3 miles to the University of Miami, just a bit more to Vizcaya, Science Museum, Rickenbacker Causeway to Key Biscayne. Even the upper Keys would be just an hour away. Wish I needed to be in Miami area more often so as to be able to come back.

Not so good
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/17/07
This hotel was supposed to recreate the style of the Hyatt at granada spain, with that meditteranean style, which I personally think is achieved in the main facilities, but once you find your way to the rooms, there are no views, and the rooms look like three start hotel rooms, the service is even worst. We ordered breakfast for six and we were in a hurry, it wasn;t there, so we called at 6 15 and the lady told us that the room service was on his way up, evidentlly she lied, because it was 6 30 and it still wasn't there, so we had to leave, so we called and cancelled, the women, which wasn't being very helpful, said ok and hung up, no sorry no nothing. The valet parking couldn't find our car keys, because when he asked for our last name I answered eeee rivers, so he wrote; errivers... All of this were what happened the first two days.

Nasty on the phone
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/8/07
I called to cancel a reservation and the person was very curt and rude. Wouldn't choose to stay here in future, if they aren't even nice on the phone.

NO NO NO NO
This hotel was horrible. It looked really grand and pretty on the outside. Inside the rooms were old and carpet was stained and moldy. I couldn't sleep because my allergies were going crazy from the mold and stale air. I was afraid to touch anything in this room. I had the housekeeping staff bring me fresh sheets. These sheets were used to drape over the couch, which is were I slept..or tried to sleep. There was a club or resturant across the street that played music well into the wee hours of the morning. The best about this hotel is that I never have to stay there again.HA HA

Just excellent!!!
By Albert, 8/19/05
There is really not much to say. Everything was great. The only minor thing is that I tried the video check out and could not do it. Also, I wished the pool would not close at 10 p.m.. All in all, it was superb.

Simply Captivating!
By Mina, 6/10/05
I love the convenience anf the surroundings. It's close to everything and the staff was very polite and informative. I'd go back there again when I take a trip back to Miami Beach, FL.
