Not Perfect, but Pretty Good
We've stayed here twice and our experience has been mixed, but generally pretty good.
Although the cafe wasn't open as long as we'd have liked, I'd disagree with the other reviewer saying the menu is overly-limited. We stayed there for almost two weeks and were able to get a good variety of things, and the couple who owns the cafe are extremely personable and nice.
On the good side, the rooms *are* decent enough for the price especially considering the alternatives. It's a hot tourist spot. What do you want? If you want a bargian go to Orlando. The pool is one of the best in Key West, and the hotel itself is located away from the hustle and bustle making it a relaxing place to stay.
The service from the hotel staff has been mixed. By and large the people there are professional, courteous, and helpful. The last time we went however we got the front-desk person from h311 and had to threaten to leave before a manager stepped in and solved all our problems. Probably an isolated incident.
The only thing that downright stinks is the Internet access. Last time I went (Oct 04) they said they'd be replacing it with something more stable. We've stayed at three places on Key West, and overall I still think this Marriot is the nest value we've seen
