Holiday Inn Htl Stes Clwtr Bch, Clearwater Beach

when i first got there i went to the restaurant they have first they gave me the wrong dish but i'm not one to complain and it still tasted good....until i found a piece of metal in it we complained and they man brought me a new one and said we had to pay for both?! my mom raised hell and they gave us the whole meal for free we had room service twice after that once for dinner and once for breakfast and it was very good and the service was great the internet connection was very well operated but it is not on the beach it is on a sea wall the beach is down the street me and my mother went to the game room out of lack of things to do and when we went to turn in the tickets the candy i got (mike and ikes) were hard as a rock i threw them off my balcony the beds weren't that comfortable and the fridge was falling overall it was okay but i will not be going back.

Very nice hotel with a central location. Excellent service, nice pool, clean rooms, good food and good drinks. Could sit on the deck overlooking the water for hours. Very nice. Not too loud or wild. You can walk next door to Shepherds if you want it to be more lively. Wthin walking distance of shopping, Pier 60 and the marina. Would recomend to families and couples 30 and up.

We enjoyed our stay very much. Liked the suite, amenities, view; having two bathrooms made things easier. Staff was super-responsive to our needs. Only disappointment was we could not reach the beach from the oceanside of the hotel. We had to walk out the front doors of the hotel, up the main street (it may be 300 steps--didn't check that out--one person said the walk was 3 min.; another said 5 min., but with a 3-year-old in tow, it took us 10 minutes). The website led us to believe this was beachfront--we thought this meant you could walk out onto the beach on the ocean side of the hotel. We have now learned the difference between beachfront and oceanfront. We could VIEW the ocean, but to get ON the beach you have to walk up the street past two condos and a parking lot. However, we definitely would return, because everything else was perfect!

We were extremely pleased with the comfort and cleanliness of this hotel and our suite! Just a few steps from the beach and a lovely clean pool! In recent months we've stayed at Hilton, Hyatt, Sheraton, and Marriott and none of them came close to the cleanliness and comfort of this suite. A wonderful surprise for us! Doug C. Ontario, Canada

We lucked up on this place. We originally were going to stay at the Sheraton Key Resort but they were booked up for the nights that we were in town. We ended up riding down the beach looking for a nice place and saw the Gulfview Resort so we stopped and they had rooms available. The lobby was very nice and clean but they are currently doing some remodeling (more about that later). Upon entering our room, it was very impressive. We got an oceanview w/ 2 queen beds and balcony. There were granite countertops in the bathrooms, Kohler basin style sinks, Bath & Body Works shampoo, conditioner, shower gel and soap. There was an LG HD flatscreen tv. Everything was clean and in new condition. The pool area has a large pool along with a kiddie pool. Now for the bad part: they are remodeling and doing some roofing work. The workers were using tar which made me highly nauseated to the point that I had to go back inside. More importantly they were tearing away fiberglass and sweeping it into piles which was blowing around onto our bathing suits, hair, and some even got in my daughter's eyes, so much so that I had to go to the front desk and get her an eye wash kit. When I complained about this nobody seemed to really care whatsoever and nobody ever followed up with me to make sure my little girl was o.k. which highly ticked me off. The renovations hindered us in our pool time because we would not go back out there while they were working which was during the day which is when you would normally want to be out there. Very frustrating. Also, they have a restaurant in the resort that has a singer come out and play music in the evenings. I would steer clear of this place because you will get ignored. Jimmy's Fish House & Iguana Bar it's called. My daughter wanted to watch the guy play so we went and sat at a table. Nobody ever came to wait on us. About 45 minutes into it a girl brought menus and said that someone would be right over to help us but then nobody ever came. Seemed like everyone around us was getting service but not us. We finally left. I would avoid this place because the food is not good either. We ended up eating there once and the food was horrible. We went down to Shephard's which is like 2 minutes from the resort and they have all you can eat buffets for breakfast, lunch and dinner so go there. There is no beach right there at the resort but you can look out your balcony and see Sand Key which you will have to go check out. It is a gorgeous beach and park area. While we were there, we saw 2 couples taking engagement pictures and 1 other couple actually got married while we were building sand castles!! Better yet, it is 4 minutes from the resort. There is an IHOP 2 minutes away, Put put golf right across the street, Clearwater Marine Aquarium is about 6 minutes away. For what you pay there is so much to do and the pictures that this website has up for the resort are either old or inacurate. It is much nicer than what the pictures show. Pier 60 is right up the road also which has a park for the kids along with lots of beach and umbrellas that you can rent for $18 per day. The marina is in the same area. DO NOT get scammed on the Captain Memo's Pirate Ship. It is a scam. It brags of free beer, wine and soft drinks and whatever. You will get watered down FANTA orange drink or Sprite and if you don't tip the crew they aren't very friendly. It was $99 for me, my husband and my daughter and it wasn't worth it. We had a blast despite some problems and we would definately go back and stay again!

I was in FL for eleven (11) days just two weeks ago. My family and I spent our last two days here. I wish we would have come here sooner. I was in paradise. We loved it. We were very impressed with the Hotel and the suite we had. Pool, lounge chairs everywhere (I especially liked the lounge chairs lined up near the ocean set up behind the gated fence). Very clean, comfortable, quiet and stylish. The sunset is breathtaking and the ocean is beautiful. Joe's Fish Restaurant is connected to Hotel, and Clearwater Beach is right next door. I didn't want to leave. What a way to top off my vacation to FL. I'm going back to Gulfview Resort as soon as I can.

the hotel was great. the room was great. the food was great. the service was great. the pool was great. i would stay here again.

This hotel was great! The rooms were clean, we had the best view from our balcony, the tiki bar right down stairs that made the best frozen drinks! The location is great just minutes away from the beach.

For the price this place works just fine. There is no beach on the property and looks into an inlet from the gulf. But it is only about a 1/4 mile walk to the white sands of clearwater beach. If your looking for a cheap place to stay in the heart of Clearwater Beach than this is the place. If your looking for a nice place to stay with a good view of the gulf than you better try the Clearwater Hilton or Clearwater Raddison or else try Marriott Suites or Sheraton over on Sand Key.
