GUESTS BEWARE!
By The Dane, 01/31/10
This hotel is very nice and clean, that much is true, but the scam afterwards is the problem. Had a great stay but it was about $800 for two nights. Problem occurred when we got home. A big charge appeared on our card with no explanation. When I called to question it the person on the phone accused us of stealing a rug. We were in Key West with our car parked in their lot for most of the day after we checked out and no one ever raised any issue with us, they simply put a whopping charge on our bill later. Repeated calls to reach the manager about the dispute went unheeded. At least 5 calls were answered by a human, I left my number, but no call back, EVER. I finally submittied it to the fraud department of my credit card company which removed the item. Why would anyone steal a rug? I am not even sure if there was a rug in the room. Why wouldn't they call me back? Rather than try to sneak a charge onto the city slickers card, they should have just reported it to the police. It ended up being a thoroughly disgusting hotel experience and we will NOT be back.

Great Place -- would go back anytime
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/27/09
I took a group 7 women here as a base for a 4 day walking tour of Key West. My guests loved their rooms and were very impressed with my choice. The rooms are very nice, roomy (except the kingbed room is a little tight) and the amenities are great. The pool is crystal clear and the hot tub was a real plus. Breakfast began nice and early at 7 or 7:30 -- unlike the Key LIme in where we had to wait till 8:30 ---and the food was better -- fresh fruit, yoghurt, a variety of breads, hard boiled eggs, coffee , juice, pastry --at 5 there was a happy hour with complimentary wine and snacks. The owners were very friendly and helpful. The only draw back was people coming back late at night and talking out by the pool --till more than wee hours. I called for help one night at 3 AM after waiting several hours for people to disband. This could happen anywhere and might not when you are there. There is some one to call 24 hours a day. I would take a group back here again in a heartbeat. Very convenient and sits on the border more or less or the quieter side of Duvall ---but great access to everything. Our weather was perfect

Loved it! Going back.

I've stayed in several places in Key West before, and this was the cleanest, freshest, yet still cozy and friendly atmosphere...hard to combine. Excellent location. Pretty much perfect.

Would stay here again !!!
By John B, 10/01/08
The staff was always helpfull and friendly. The whole place was very clean and well maintaned including the pool and hot tub.Located just off Duval Street (appox. 100feet) and close to everything within walking distance.A 24 hour CVS is just next door and next to that is a small medical office, across the street is a place that rents electric scooters and bicycles. A great central location near all the bars yet peacefull and relaxed. My wife and I would stay here again. No need to rent a car and better than staying at the entrance to Key West, which you'll have to use a shuttle or rent a car and try to park(good luck).

Perfect
By Yahweh, 07/14/08
Stayed from 7/3/08-7/9/08This place is PERFECT. Cosy, friendly, quiet. No need for cabs or car as you can walk or bike to ANYTHING you want. Happy hour from 5-7pm with free beer/wine and snacks was a very nice touch and made it easy to meet the other guests. Kimberly was particularly friendly and helpful as she manned the happy hour counter. Rooms are nice and pool is great. Do yourself a favor and don't bother with anywhere else. I'll be back to key west and will stay at the Almond Tree.

A little Oasis
By Scott, 07/03/08
Great place to stay. Clean, pretty, great service and excellent location. I couldn't have been happier. We were told the owner is building another hotel on the other side of Duvall called the Orchid that is suppose to be even nicer. We will definately stay at one of these to hotels again.

We Adore This Place!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/01/08
Very clean. Bill the owner is a wonderful man. All of the housekeeping staff are very nice. The pool is a bit cold, but still very nice. The landscaping is beautiful. The staff go above and beyond to help you. A bit pricey though but it is KeyWest!
