Way overrated

This house seems to be suffering from a typical case of living on your past reviews, thus losing its drive to provide quality service and quality accommodations. It started with our arrival and receiving as our "welcome drink" a warm Milwaukee's Best straight from the box. Not a good sign.
While understanding this is a Guest House, the Eden House's labeling of its rooms is disingenous at the least and borders on just false advertising. Trust me, a Large Deluxe Room has nothing large or deluxe to it. It's a very, very small room - barely enough to hold a Queen bed, night stand, TV stand and smallish bathroom. It has slat doors on both sides, the far side leading to lobby, the other to the outside balcony. The "Apartment" is smaller than a typical hotel room. And the Conch House is about the size of a typical hotel room -- But it has smaller guest rooms literally attached to it. Separated by nothing more than a slat door. The neighboring room literally ran the blow dryer for privacy when they want to "enjoy" some private time.
Here's where the biggest problem lies -- don't go here if you intend to get any sleep. You won't. This is one of the loudest hotels I've ever been to. And the staff is the problem. The multiple employee doors and entrance doors in the lobby area are constantly opening and slamming -- and it literally shakes your second floor room.
The irony is that the Eden House has a mandatory Quiet Period from 10 p.m. to 10 a.m. -- "if we can't hear you, we can't see you " is there motto between that time.
The problem is employees are clearly exempt from this policy as they are the biggest noise makers in the joint -- particularly in the morning. The cleaning crew is up with the sun and that's when all the door slamming and loud talking and step climbing starts. Not to mention the 5 a.m. garbage collections.
No exaggeration, my wife literally went out and bought ear plugs for herself to get some sleep.
Arrogance really kicked in with the lead staff, particulary one young lady who does a better job flipping her lovely brown locks than serving as a gracious hostess.
Hand in your keys and all my wife and I got was an "all right guys." No thank you. No how was your stay. No was everything alright. Just a quick brushoff.
Left me with the clear conclusion that this place is living off its past reputation and clearly isn't even trying anymore. They're booked so they don't care what their customers think or how they're treated.
I've traveled the world over - staying in places similar to Eden House and as grand as the nicest hotels. I've never been compelled to write a bad review. And I'm writing this one on behalf of six couples who all had the same experience.
You can spend your money much better and wiser, not to mention more comfortably and enjoyably, in Key West than at the Eden House.
Trust me -- you have lots of choices in Key West. This is way overrated and you can do much better for the price.
