The Days Inn costs about half of what the Double Tree next door charges. For that you get a typical Days Inn style room. Nothing fancy, but reasonably clean and plenty of parking. There is a continental breakfast included and the eating area is sort of hodge-podge. They had a large coffee table in front of a TV, so to eat your cereal and toast, you kind of hunch over a low table, or balance a bowl on your lap at another chair. I found the front desk staff helpful. They helped locate a few things on a map for me. No complaints here, but it's a very basic motel.

April 27, 28, 2007
By Rachel, 5/4/07
Our stay at Days Inn in Key West was GREAT ! At the last minute the only rooms that were available were smoking rooms. They were free of any odors and very clean. The staff was very friendly and more than accomodating at the last minute. It was so very quiet even on a busy road and the stay was without mishap. Thank you Days Inn for a great stay. It would be nice if there were more vending machines. But we were most thankful for the clean, affordable room. The location is off the party path and the main road leads in all directions for easy access to everything. The Waffle House is very convienent with good reasonable food. We will stay again...next time in Sept. 2007 This time we will have reservations and here is a tip.....ask for a room in the back top floor QUIET!!!!!!! No roosters here! Thank you

You'd Be Very Sorry!!!!! We Were
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 4/18/07
Filthy, smelly, bugs,(looked like roaches)toilets that would not flush. Had to use bathrooms at local restaurant! The nastiest front end management in Key West! Lisa and James were arrogant and obnoxious. My family and I (husband and 2 small children) expected to be given a clean room. How dare we! They were argumentive and down right crazy. Told us we should leave if we didn't like the room. We did. Got a refund and went to the Radisson for a little bit more. Worth every penny! Don't even try it! Read all the reviews. You'd be foolish to book at the Days Inn. It was a nightmare!!!

Not again
By VladimiroS, 8/7/06
If we have some kind of problem with the law or if we want to meet people that have experience in that area, if we are in need to be scare all the time or you are planning to join the Foreign Legion, thats the hotel for you! From the room we could see like 10 people that seemed to be runaway prisioners, a big biker spent a afternoon screaming at the phone by the pool, the room could be cleaner, the breakfast was a joke, and it was to expensive for the quality. We stayed two nights because everything else was full.

I was nervous for no reason
By Twila G, 5/22/06
After reading other reviews of this particular Days Inn, I must admit I was somewhat concerned about staying there but since I was not about to pay $800 for a one night stay at the only other available hotel in Key West, I figured that I would take my chances. I was nervous for no reason! I truly believe the other reviews are unjustified or we were staying in an entirely different location than they did. The room was large and very clean. The bathroom spotless and very up to date. I am all about the cleanliness of a place and this one was great. The only complaint I had about the room was the placement of the chairs and table at the foot of the beds but we just moved them out of the way so that we would not be tripping over them during the necessary nighttime excursions from the bed to bathroom. My rather tall husband said the bed could have been a bit longer but all in all we were both extremely satisfied with the room. In addition the staff was very friendly and helpful even letting us store our bags in the office until we were ready to board the ferry back to Fort Myers. WE GIVE THE DAYS INN KEY WEST 2 THUMBS UP and will stay there again on our next trip to Key West.

Beware of Days Inn, they run a very shady business
By Dina C, 2/21/06
In June of 2005, I reserved a room at Days Inn, Key West Florida for a one night stay on February 11 2006. On that day I arrived at 7pm for check in, and was greeted by an extremely rude man working front desk, who identified himself as a supervisor. I was told that around 5 pm the "cancelled" my reservation because my credit card had a block on it. I phoned my credit card company to find out what the problem was, and they advised me there was no such block and nobody tried to charge anything, not to mention I had more then enough funds on my credit card. Upon returning back to the front desk, the supervisor became extremely rude once again and told me it isn't thier policy to call customers advising thier credit card didn't work, nor is it thier responsiblity to hold the room a few hours until you arrive. The supervisor told me (in front of many other customers), and I quote "next time, try using a valid credit card". First of all, no one should be spoken to in that manner, not to mention a paying customer. Nothing was wrong with my cc, nor have I ever had a problem in the past. I asked him to see the cc number he tried to put through, and he flatly refused. I argued with him to give me the number he was trying to put through, until finally he said he will only give me the last 4 digits. Well those digits were not linked to any of my cc. The reservation desk made a mistake entering the numbers. Why didn't they call me? Why didn't they tell me this when i called to confirm reservation? They say it isn't thier responsablity. Which makes me wonder. Then I find out the exact same thing happened to another couple on the very same night. Now to me, this seems very shady. Since Key West is very busy, and they get many walk ins, Do they give our room to those walk ins and make more money? Anyone booking a room with Days Inn in Key West, I would strongly suggest you call for your reservation prior to leaving for your destination, double check the cc number they have (although it can be altered at last minute) and also, ask for something in writing. If you have a complaint, don't bother calling customer service, or the corporate head office. You will be told flat out "it isn't my concern". They are definatly not one that can be trusted.

They Just Want Your Money
By procktheboat, 12/14/05
Years ago, after having scheduled a trip for my family to Key West, I had the misfortune of being diagnosed with a stage 3 cancer that required immediate medical care and lengthy treatment. As my itinerary involved airline tickets and stays at 4 different hotels, I contacted the airline and each of the hotels asking for refunds. I even provided proof of my medical condition. The airlines and three of the hotels all provided prompt refunds. The exception was the Days Inn in Key West. They refused to refund my deposit despite expaining the situation, providing medical evidence, and giving them two weeks advance notice. The good news is that I made it through my treatments, and my family and I eventually made the Key West vacation. Of course, I did not reschedule at the Days Inn in Key West, as it was clear that the only thing they cared about was their bottom line.

Never Again!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/25/05
Dirty Rooms, unkempt grounds and verandas. Room cleaners were sitting on staircase smoking. Didn't even move to let us pass. Rude front desk personnel. Really awful all around.

Terrible Hotel
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/22/04
The worst hotel we have ever stayed in. The rooms were filthy and the communal areas even worse. I would have paid more money to stay in a clean hotel.
