Simply the TRUTH!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/6/11
I was there at vacation lodge on N. Orange Blossom Trail for a month and half and I saw or experienced none that was described. I am a 32 year old white male and I was in Orlando on business. Right from the begging I was greeted like a guest would be greeted at any hotel. The man at the front desk was very polite and struck up a connection within minutes of arriving. My room was ready but I talked to the front desk, IN ENGLISH, for about 15 minutes. I was jet lagged and I feel asleep within minutes of lying down. I slept for 10 hours an erupted, just like the rest of my stay. While I was staying there I found no bugs, I think someone made that up. The security guards were polite and never harassed or delayed my schedule what so ever. A matter of fact they directed me many times to my designation when I was a bit confused. No one broke into my room as others claim or neither did I see any cops or illegal activities. The cleaners always cleaned up my room as if they lived there themselves. I even left a note and some money for the cleaners for doing such a neat job but they never accepted. I had a pleasant stay and I will definitely be staying there on another business trip. I think it should be a crime to tell such LIES about a business such as this one.

Check your reservations, they just had a huge fire
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/27/11
This building burned all night of June 27th so they lost a big chunk of rooms. The fire was so hot it even burned cars in the parking lot. So you might want to verify your reservation with this property.

so-so hotel near good locations.
By RobertF, 9/1/09
Good location near Church Street Station & Cowboy Orlando, just off I-4. Rooms facing highway can be noisy. Room had 5 lamps but only 2 worked. No TV remote, no microwave, no refrigerator. Found mouse traps in room. Coffe shop not open. The place only has value if you need to be in the neighborhood otherwise there are better hotels for the same price. Didn''t expect the ritz at that price but expected more from a hotel chain as large as this.

NEVER GOING BACK!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/12/08
I AM A 27 YEAR OLD WHITE FEMALE, WITH A 2 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER. I CHECKED IN TO THIS PLACE BECAUSE MY APARTMENT CAUGHT FIRE AND I NEEDED A TEMPORARY PLACE TO LIVE. AT THE TIME THIS WAS THE BEST DEAL I COULD FIND. I CHECKED IN FOR A WEEKLY BASIS AND IMMEDIATELY THE GUARDS AND MAIN DESK BEGAN TO HARASS ME. IT STARTED WITH GAMES ON THE WALKIE TALKIE, BACK AND FORTH WITH THE MAIN DESK AND GUARDS WHEN I CAME AND LEFT. BOTH THE GUARDS AND THE MAIN DESK ARABIAN EMPLOYEE'S WANTED TO KNOW IF I HAD A MAN. THERE WERE NO WHITE OR AMERICAN EMPLOYEE'S EXEPT ONE ELDERLY WHITE MAN. THEY CAME TO MY ROOM AT ALL HOURS ASKING TO CHECK THE BATHROOM AND UNDER THE BED LOOKING FOR EXTRA PEOPLE NOT PAID FOR OR ID'S NOT AT THE MAIN DESK. AT NIGHT THEY CALL THE POLICE AND CHECK ALL THE GUESTS FOR BACKGROUND AND SEND THEM TO JAIL. THE POLICE ARE THERE 24/7. IT'S LIKE A SUBSTATION. I COMPLAINED ABOUT THE ROACHES AND ANTS AND THE MAIN DESK GUY CURSED ME AND CALLED THE GUARDS AND ASKED THEM TO BRING THE MACE TO MACE ME AND EVICT ME. THE FOLLOWING DAY THE MANAGER HELD WHAT I FELT WAS A TRIBUNAL TO DETERMINE WHEATHER I WAS ALLOWED TO STAY . OR NOT. I WAS ALLOWED TO STAY PENDING I HAD NO MALE VISITIATION, OR I WOULD BE EVICTED WITHOUT ANY REFUND. MY ROOM WAS INFESTED WITH COCKROACHES AND ANTS. THE MIAD ONLY CAME ONCE A WEEK TO LEAVE BROWN DIRTY TOWELS. NOBODY THERE SPOKE ANY CLEAR ENGLISH, MOSTLY THEY SPOKE IN ARABIC TO COVER WHAT THEY WERE SAYING ABOUT US. THIS IS THE MOST BARBARIC PLACE I'VE EVER SEEN IN AMERICA. THEY HAVE THE MOST ROUGE EMPLOYEE'S. THIS PLACE NEEDS TO BE CLOSED DOWN. I WAS MORE SCARED OF THE GUARDS THEN I WAS OF THE DRUG ADDICTS KNOCKING ON MY DOOR 24/7 TO SELL DRUGS OR SEX. THE CITY SHOULD INVESTIGATE AND CLOSE THIS PLACE NOW!!!

Go somewhere else!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/17/08
Wow, what can I say?I can't help but laugh when I think of this place. We were down there to see a bowl game and mapquest said this was the closest hotel/motel to the Citrus Bowl.It is located about 1/2 mile from the stadium-which was nice, but the area the stadium is in is kind of shaddy. I had originally called to try and reserve a room (can't do it on the website) and was quoted $59/night for a room w/2 beds. He told me to fax over my drivers license as well as my credit card and he'd hold a room for me. It all seemed a little shaddy, so I said I wanted to think about it. I talked to my group and decided to stick w/it. I called the following a day and a different guy told me that they don't take reservations?? Uhh, not sure what that meant, but I told him I called yesterday and was told that I could. He says okay and I send him my info-very detailed info-I wanted to make sure they fully understood what I was looking for. I was still a little hesitant, but I knew we'd only be there 2 nights before upgrading to a condo by Disney. The place was very easy to find-located right off the expressway, but like I said before, not a nice part of town. We pull up to check-in, and I go in. I say there will be 2 of us (we actually had 4, but I always just say 2). They say they need both of our drivers license so they can make copies of them, so I grab a friend and have her come in w/me. He gives us a room rate, and I look at my friend like "sweet, that's cheaper than what they quoted me on the phone!"-so I pull out my credit card, and the guy seemed all confused and said it'd cost more if I were paying w/credit card. This irritated me alittle, I reluctantly paid in cash. They give us a room key and then get on the walky talky to the security guard "Two white girls checking in." This made me laugh a little, that's some good security! hahah! I try to tell the 2 in the back to duck down, but it was too late-the security guard questions who they are. I tell him they aren't staying, we're just dropping off our stuff and leaving. He lets them in. It was nice that the hotel did have a gated parking lot.We check out the room and it smells like someone had just put out a cig-we decide that since the room smells so bad we'll try and get another one, and since security was so tight, we also decided to add the other 2 guests. (I think it was $10 more per person/per night) One desk clerk spoke very little english and we had a difficult time communicating to him that we wanted a NON-smoking room. He kept telling us all of thier rooms were non-smoking.We asks why they put ash trays in them then? This went on for a few minutes before one of the other guys finally told us that all the rooms were smoking, not non-smoking.They still gave us a new room, and even went in and sprayed some air freshner in there for us. The rooms were very small. We barely had enough room for all 4 of us to bring our bags in.The sink area, and the bathroom were quite dirty. Also no fan by the shower-it got VERY hot in there! We spent as little time there as possible. And on the morning we checked out, none of even wanted to step foot in the bathroom-decided to hold out for the condo we were headed too. I found out a week later when we got back to MI, that not only did I pay in cash, but they also charged my credit card. I had a bad feeling about this, but getting this fixed was actually a lot easier than I had imagined. Side note-we were tailgating in a lot just down the block from this hotel. And after the game we went back and pulled out the grill and had a few beers. The cops came around shortly and said "We're going home, and TRUST US, you don't want to be here once we're gone!" That should tell you enough about the area. Overall-if you have no standards and just need a place to sleep, OR want to be really close to the Citrus Bowl, this is your place.I'm pretty sure next time we are down there though, we'll probably chose to stay in a different part of town!

Best Value for the money
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/26/07
Although the surrounding area is a "Weed and Seed" neighborhood, this hotel offers 24 hour security, the staff is "usually" pleasant , weekly rooms are furnished with micro-fridges. Free HBO and sometimes the pool is functional.
