St Pete Beach Hotel - beach front value
By Michael, 04/21/09
The location was incredible, awesome sunsets, soft white sandy beach. We had a pool view room and there was a great area for the kids to play. The rooms were not luxury, but the overall value couldn't be touched. We will go again.

Better than I expected
By pizzafan, 03/28/09
We took our 2 children (ages 5 and 7) to the Beachcomber for spring break last week. We were very impressed with the resort. All of the staff was extremely friendly and helpful, from the front desk to the cleaning crew. We spilled a pop on the sidewalk and they came and cleaned in up in minutes. Room service was very good, they even cleaned up all of the sand we drug in! I was very impressed with the beach and the 2 pools were very warm and very clean. There are plenty of things to do close to this hotel. If you have kids, monster pizza across the street is an absolute must on Mondays and Wednesdays, when they do baloon animals. Plus the have some of the best pizza. The rooms are a little outdated and the bathroom could have used updating, but we did not intend on spending a lot of time in the room, so this was a minor thing to us. Our room had a huge closet, which allowed us to keep the room from being cluttered. Parking is very difficult. Although we always found parking near our room, we did have to back out several hundred feet when we needed to leave. Again, we were there for the beach, so this was a minor inconvenience. The bar also brings in a lot of locals and can be loud at times, but we did not have a room that was very close, so again a minor distraction for us. Overall we were very pleased with our experience and would stay there again.

Horrible
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/17/09
Booked two nights; checked out after first night. This is a Drinking Party atmosphere and didn't quiet down until after 2:00 a.m. Went for a romantic get away; but certainly did not get what we paid for. The room was smaller than our bedroon at home. Everything was old and yucky. Bathroom way too small and everything very outdated. Will not stay again. Didn't even recieve an apology or offer for refund the next morning. I think they are used to getting similiar complaints. Parking is bazar! You have to back out a narrow dark ally to get out of the place. Horrible, and very sorry I didn't do more research.

Great Time!

We had an outstanding week! The perfect location on St. Pete Beach close to everything. Great bands and fun bars too! Only negatives were the drink prices :(

A 3 day stay
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/22/07
Our room was fine. Nothing fancy but everything worked. Having a refrigerator in the room was nice. The staff was friendly. We did have very slow service at their restaurant (Players). It took over an hour to get our food so we only ate there once. The hotel location is good. Lot's of places close by to eat. There's also a 7-11 store across the street. The pool was good size with lots of chairs. The beach bar with live music was a fun place to hang out. The beach was clean and easy to get to. Overall, a pretty good experience.

Great Vacation!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/30/07
Great location, great view of the beach and pool areas from 2nd floor, friendly staff, clean room and grounds, comfy bed & pillows, clean pools, great food and drinks at the beach bar. No trouble with the parking, kid and family friendly. Try Monster Pizza across the street (diagnally) SOOO good!

Great place for the price!
By Nicole, 02/04/07
The Beachcomber Beach resort was a great place to stay. My friend and I were looking for a decent priced hotel that was on the beach and that is what we got. The service was absolutely excellent. I had to call to ask questions a few times and each time they were super friendly. They were very willing to make sure that our stay was satisfying. We had some airport troubles where we were going to be late checking in and we had no problems when we finally got to the hotel. The gardens were beautiful. After reading reviews, I was skeptical about the rooms, but our room turned out to be better than we expected. The room smelled like it had just gotten new carpet, beds were comfy, room was clean, and there was a minifridge which we hadnt expected. The only thing that would have been nice is if there was some sort of continental breakfast. Other than that minor suggestion, this hotel was a great experience. Of course the best part, was it being located on the beach!

Will NEVER go back!!
By Laura L, 07/11/06
The photos are very mis-leading to say the least. The parking is horrible & difficult. The bed we slept on should have been thrown away YEARS ago-my husband & I both sunk to the middle as soon as we went to bed. Then the next morning when we told the 'manager' about the bad night's sleep we got she stated "well, I cant do much for you now that it's morning". There were kid's running around everywhere-families that looked as though they rented these rooms by the week. The ouside walkways & corridors where dirty. The ONLY thing we liked about the single nights stay here was the beach-but there are many htels to choose from on this strip. This was the single worst experience I have ever had at a hotel-ever!

Excellent Time
By David, 04/04/06
The place was ideal. Location, pools, beach bar, value. Only negative was parking however I had no problem. Always found a spot close to the room in the alleyway and never had a problem leaving. If you need to back out it can be a pain if you do not know how to drive in reverse. Most of the time when I left there were several spots open close to me and just pull in there and do a simple turn around. Room was very clean and even smelled fresh, until mi wife cooked her fresh caught clams in the room. Oh well, just had a few beers at Jimmy B's till it cleared. Beer can be a bit pricey, but bring your own and pour into the plastic cups. Overall had a tremendous time.

If I hadn't pre-paid I would have checked out
By JohnF, 03/30/06
Hotel room was dirty, the fitted sheet was so old it wouldn't stay on the mattress. The blanket was so bad I wouldn't have let my dog sleep on it. If that was a 3 star I'd hate to see a 1 or 2 star. On the positive side the people working the desk are very nice.
