Super 8 Hartford Windsor, Hartford

This hotel has been renovated recently and is comparable to much nicer hotel chains. A bargain for the price. The service was excellent. 2nd floor rooms have balconies.The continental breakfast is decent. It is pet friendly which is a plus for me. I highly recommend.

We arrived late from our flight and only wanted sleep and a shower which is about all we got. While waiting in the car for my husband to check us in, there appeared to be prostitution going on.The room was down a dark dimly-lit, spongy carpeted hallway, very creepy. If it wasn't so late we probably would have left. Noise from the nearby freeway was loud.The room itself wasn't too bad but the bathroom light was so dark I could not see to put on my makeup, towels were yellow and rough. Thank goodness it was only one night. We also missed the early 6-9:00am breakfast, so I can't comment on that. One plus was that the manager was available when we checked in at 2:00 am. However, it was not worth the $67 we paid for a few hours.

Incredibly shady people lurking....paper thin walls....random guy showed up at my room at 7:15 a.m.....woman screaming for help at 4 in the morning in the room across from me...overall didn't feel safe at all staying there alone and female! Clean room and bathroom, I'll give 'em that but I'd never risk it again, didn't sleep much and wasn't impressed!

This place reminded me of places I stay at when traveling to third world (developing) countries abroad, i.e., the ambience, the morning breakfast to some extent, but not the staff which is generally more hospitable in developing country establishments. If watered down oj, watered down apple juice, nasty coffee with the consistency of tar, and hi fat, hi sugar, lo or no fiber pastries(?) are your thing for breakfast, you may like this place more than I did. Watered down oj was a first for me, never encountered this cost saving, profit boosting trick before, the apple juice in partcular tasted just awful. If management needs to dilute juice to turn a profit at this place, I say they should raise the room rate a buck instead On the plus side, this place is convenient to dt Hartford, albeit very hard to find. If you arrive in Hartford late, and don't have reservations anywhere for the night, this might be a place to try The room was satisfactory for me, but then I like to keep things basic, I'm not into much hyped, overpriced motel frills. The staff was was not particularly hospitable, but definitely not mean spirited in any way

This place is a typical highway-side motel off Hartford. Nice staff, clean room, very affordable indeed. The area might seem sketchy but I did not notice any indications for trouble. Free wireless connection works fine. Do not plan to stay if you need a ride, though.

They towed my son's car away after asking him for his license plate number so they could add it to their list. Why put it on the list if you don't refer to the list before calling the towing company. Now regardless of the fact that their stupidity and laziness cost my son more than the dumpy room was worth, they refuse to reimburse us for the towing. They simply do not care. I would definitely THINK TWICE or THREE TIMES before staying at a place that doesn't car about their guests. A real downer...

The room was pretty nice for the price I paid. The bathroom was very clean, which was a big plus for me. Actually, the whole room was clean. The room had a nice sized TV with a local selection of cable channels. The bed was comfortable, but there were no sheets. I really didn't like being so close to the mattress itself. I tried to put the air conditioner on, but a horribly foul smell came out with the cold air. The smell stayed in the room until the next day. The hotel staff was helpful, the cleaning staff were especially nice. The location was great, I didn't have to go very far to get to downtown Hartford. If you need someplace cheap and quick, this hotel is a good choice. I just suggest bringing your own bed linen.
