Third world in Hartford, CT
This place reminded me of places I stay at when traveling to third world (developing) countries abroad, i.e., the ambience, the morning breakfast to some extent, but not the staff which is generally more hospitable in developing country establishments.
If watered down oj, watered down apple juice, nasty coffee with the consistency of tar, and hi fat, hi sugar, lo or no fiber pastries(?) are your thing for breakfast, you may like this place more than I did. Watered down oj was a first for me, never encountered this cost saving, profit boosting trick before, the apple juice in partcular tasted just awful. If management needs to dilute juice to turn a profit at this place, I say they should raise the room rate a buck instead
On the plus side, this place is convenient to dt Hartford, albeit very hard to find. If you arrive in Hartford late, and don't have reservations anywhere for the night, this might be a place to try
The room was satisfactory for me, but then I like to keep things basic, I'm not into much hyped, overpriced motel frills. The staff was was not particularly hospitable, but definitely not mean spirited in any way
