Grand Vista Hotel, Grand Junction

This place was rated as a 3 star hotel, but really isn't. Old TV with bad reception, wifi is incredibly weak, with no ethernet alternative. The hot tub doesnt have working jets! When we asked the front desk how to turn the hot tub on, they said its just a tub with hot water, not a jacuzzi (jets are there, just shut off). Had to go back to the front desk a few times to gt a key that worked, which was really a pain since we were put on the 4th floor. We had a large room with the couch, but it wasn't useable as the hide a bed was broken and stuck up through the cushions

disliked this hotel we reserved rooms for our wedding and they messed it all up and double charged us service sucks and they are NOT friendly at all I will never go back and I wouldnt recomend staying here

We stayed the night of August 30, 2008. On arrival between 5:30 and 6:00 PM, the desk clerk made us wait at least five minutes while she was on the phone with someone asking for a least two dozen different names of people who might be staying there that night. After each name, the clerk dutifully looked through the bookings and said that the person wasn't there. The other clerk was also on the phone when we arrived and was still there ten minutes later whe we left. After a very long wait for the first clerk to get off the phone, without saying "I'm sorry for the wait", she was very unfriendly when she finally checked us in. On arriving at our room we found it had not been cleaned and had to move to another room. That night we requested a wake-up call for the following morning at 6:45. Next morning, I woke up later, not having heard a call. I went to the front desk andI found three clerks, all doing nothing. I mentioned the wake-up call and they said they had just forgotten to place the call. Again, there were no apologies, and the girls went back to their idle conversation. I wanted to use the house computer but there was a young boy using it. I came back 20 minutes later to find the same boy on the computer. I said that there was a 20 minute time limit and he just looked at me. I went to the front desk and asked if the clerk could remind the boy that there was a 20 minute time limit and she said no. As I was doing this, another woman was trying to get the attention of one of the three girls behind the desk. One of the girls looked up and said to the woman "are you just standing there?" to which the woman responded that she would like to check out. The girl behind the desk, as if quite unahappy to be distrubed, sourly started to check the woman out. I don't think I've seen such immature, unprofessional behavior behind a front desk in all my years of travel. The three girls were completely unsupervised and clearly found the customers to be a pain in the neck. I won't be staying at the Grand Vista again, and will tell others not to stay there.

This hotel was the best bargain on our 2 week trip to the west. Clean, quiet, affordable, right across the street from WW Peppers cafe (excellent food) Loved the room and the view.
