Perfect for going to a Bronco's game
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/21/08
After reading some iffy reviews, I was nervous about staying at Hotel VQ, but we had a great stay! The hotel is literally next door to Invesco Field making travel to and from the game extremely convenient. We used their shuttle to go downtown and had no problems with being picked up like I had read in other reviews. The room had a large bed and was clean. The bathroom was a tad small, but functional and clean. My hubby probably wishes there was a door in between the sink area and room so he didn't have to hear my hair dryer. The Skybox restaurant is awesome and we ate there several times. The buffet breakfast was expensive for what you got...it was a typical eggs, hash browns type buffet. Their pop machines only take exact change, when we asked the front desk for change they didn't have any which was a little annoying. One of the elevators was broken during our stay which caused long wait times for the elevator so we took the stairs several times. The one HUGE suggestion we have is that the hotel offer an airport shuttle. We paid over $100 to get to and from the airport. Even if they charged $10 extra per night to accomodate a shuttle, it would be worth it. We will definitely stay there again based on their awesome location!

Not very clean old hotel
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 4/12/08
This was the least expensive hotel with free shuttle service to downtown, so we stayed there. Unfortunately, the free shuttle service was not provided on the way back from downtown because the shuttle service was too busy that evening. I wish they had told us in advance. No complimentary breakfast at the hotel, or fridge was available in the room, so you need to plan to buy breakfast at their restaurant (no restaurants or shops near the hotel). It is right by freeway, and the building is not well-insulated, so the freeway noise did bother me overnight. I found some hair on the pillow before I slept there, and wondered if they had changed the linen.

Simply Wonderful
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/10/08
I disliked nothing, and loved everything else!!! It was great!!! They have a van transport service, that drove us around, dropped us off, and we just called them to ask them to pick us up. The rooms were comfortable. The restaurant/bar on the top floor was wonderful, and had great food. It really made my vacation great.

Too much heat!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/23/07
We stayed at this hotel for a Bronco game in September 2006. The food and service was great, but the fact that the heat kicked on about 2 am and the room was a "broiler" made for lack of sleep for the four nights we were there. We are seriously considering NOT staying there again, although we love the location next to Invesco and the Skybox is a really neat bar. Will this problem be fixed for future stays or should we book somewhere else???

Place is a dump!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/2/06
Don't stay here. The linen was soiled with old blood stains and some unidentifiable other spots on the linen. Chips out of the porcelain around the sink. AC/heat controls did not work. Had to open window, no screens. Mattresses are about 2 inches thick, very uncomfortable!. Food is overpriced for it's quality! Skip this place and go downtown or farther out to the suburbs. You will be happier that you did!!

great place to stay!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/11/06
It was very neat and the room was a great deal! I read some other reviews and was a little skeptical about this hotel. But everything was great, and I never heard a train blast by or had any rude service. I would stay here anytime!

Close to downtown
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 4/4/06
The Red Lion was a little like a high rise Motel 6. There was no high speed internet and the plug seal in the bath tub leaked, so you could only take showers. It was clean and the staff was friendly. Plus the hotel was close to downtown. Limited menu for room service and only about 20 tv stations on tv.

Nice but distant
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/19/06
Nice Hotel if you are going to go to a Denver football game. Too far from downtown to walk. Not close to anything, but the football stadium. They have a van to take you places, but, the van driver was crabby. It took them a while to find our reservation when we checked in.

very nice place
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/4/06
the fact I was able to change rooms without any problems and the front desk agent was extremly nice and helpful. We could have done without the ice in the front. But beyond that every thing was pleasant, thank you for the hospitality.

Excellent
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/31/06
I laughed when I read some negative reveiws, the hotel was near a highway?...aren't most? Hotel was close to resturaunts, Pepsi Center and the shuttle was always ready and available, maybe a 5 minute wait. Breakfast upstairs in the lounge in the morning was great. Location was fine, but directions to the hotel from the airport are not correct, exit 210B does not exist, not hotels fault but mapquests, but you can still get there easily. Easy to get to the mountains as well. Would definately stay there again...
