Renovation Needs To Be Rushed!

This is a standard Holidome type Holiday Inn. It certainly has potential, but leaves a lot to be desired as well.
I was moved twice before I finally got into a room where everything was working correctly. This was in April, and they were renovating, but someone in town commented that they had been renovating for some time. The public areas looked fine, but the overall feel of the 20 year old property seemed somewhat seedy to me.
Not dirty, but not quite as clean as I like. For example, dirt on window sills, dust around furniture and some crumbs at the edge of the bed. Looked like the carpet needed a good vacuuming.
The business center charges by the minute for use of the computer, which I think is ridiculous nowadays when every other place has a free business center.
The restaurant is buffet only in the morning, which limits choices--especially for eggs, toast and pancakes, etc., but makes sense financially I'm sure.
The smoking rooms are close enough to non-smoking rooms that some of the hallways reek of cigarette smoke and it can be smelled very clearly in the rooms. My neighbors sprayed the hallway with room spray and that helped.
This is a good place in some ways, but could be much nicer and better. Hopefully the renovations will help that.
The people were unfailingly nice and I appreciated that.
