BEST WESTERN Americana Inn, San Ysidro

There wasn't anything I didn't like. I felt safe, my room was always clean. I wasn't hungery in the a.m. & if I were it were my own fault. The shuttle drivers were great & made us feel as though we were family, they ALL took VERY good care of us, they go above & beyond to make sure they assist you with your needs even if they are special. I was VERY impressed! The office ladies were friendly and VERY helpful! At first you might get the wrong impression but once you get to know them you'll see different! The pool, nice & clean. I love our cleaning lady! Everyone hear speaks pretty good English. I did not want to come here b/c of these reviews that I read before I got here, if I had not have came here for this stay it would have been a mistake! Everyone that works there, works extremely hard & the worky long hard hours & it is for the people who stay there. Everything has a fresh coat of paint & the building is in great shape. No plumbing problems or of any other kind. Coco's is a great place to eat they as well go above and beyond to please, especially for those on special diets, they have a lot on the menu to choose from, so much so that I never got tired of eating there. It's a very convenient and comfotable place.

Quiet & Clean Room. I used the telephone . The number I dialed was disconnected but they charged me two dollars. Except for the General Manager very freindly staff

My first room was nice but the toilet was broken,the TV did't work and worst was there was no wi-fi as advert. I got another rm after a slight head butt with a desk girl that didn't even know that their wi-fi service was taken out for repairs a week before i got there. I wasted 40 min trying to connect until i called the wi-fi provider and he told me there was no signal it that part of the hotel. the rm was nice and clean and no stench of cig smoke. The shuttle service was good. I had to pay $ 80 for the room which i think is over priced. The continental breakfast was good. I want stay there again.

We'd go back in a heartbeat. The online pictures don't do it justice!! Room 121 was very clean (except for a small area behind the bedside table), mattresses and bedding were wonderful. Pools were warm and well maintained, the neighborhood was safe and warm and welcoming, the continental breakfast more than ample, the shuttles to and from Mexico couldn't have been better. During our visit, outside areas were being powerwashed and all windows were washed by hand. I would be proud to recommend it to anyone I care for. jw

I stayed at this hotel because it is so close to the Tijuana border. They have shuttles that go through the border in the mornings and I found that extremely helpful! The staff was very nice and friendly as well.

STAYED SEVERAL DAYS WHILE GETTING MEDICAL NEDDS ATTENDED IN MEXICO. RESONABLE RATES AND VAN SERVICE TO MEXICO WAS HELPFUL. DID NOT TAKE ADVANTAGE OF HOTEL AMENITIES. WAS THERE FOR A SPECIAL REASON AND DID NOT KNOW OF THEM.

This Best Western is very clean and is very well cared for. I had a queen size bed and a love seat with a coffee table. The bed was very comfortable, one of the best mattresses I've found in any hotel. The people at the front desk were very helpful and friendly, I didn't encounter ONE rude person during my stay of 5 days. Everyone seemed to go out of their way to be helpful. I found the shuttle service to the clinics in Tijuana to be very convenient, the drivers were very friendly and helpful. There is also an excellent local transportation system with buses and trolleys, so getting around San Diego without a car is fairly easy. The heated pool and spa are a wonderful way to relax and are sparkling clean.

Dentist in Tijuana referred us and we were especially pleased to have such convenient shuttle service to keep appointments. The adjacent Coco's restaurant was also very convenient. We are seniors and appreciated the ground level room which was quiet and comfortable even though parking lot right outside. Would stay there again.

This motel is a very good value, particularly since it includes a free shuttle into and back out of Tijuana, to the various clinics. The drivers were above average in courtesy, professionalism and friendliness. We especially liked the driver Julian and look forward to having him again. This added free service is a wonderful, headache free and very accomodating. The rooms are large and clean and the Maid Service staff is very accomodating if extra items are needed. There are several restaurants within walking distance. My only negative comment is about the front desk staff. They seriously need to practice their people skills.

I stayed there because it has a free shuttle service to and from clinics in Tijuana, and nice shuttle drivers. Otherwise, it's a rather standard, decent motel.
