My family and I went to Alisal when I was very little. We returned after 25 long years. I feared that it would have changed so much in the years and the great times I had as a child will only be the thing of the past. The time we spent there was the most fun I have had in such a long time. I do think I have found my heaven. The riding, ropes coarse was fantastic. Bingo and the pool was a blast. Friendly and helpful staff. and they turn down your bed while you are at dinner (that is SO cool) I cant wait to go back and one day bring my family and childern here.

My mother has been to Alisal many times and my siblings have gone as well. This was my first visit to the ranch and the horses are all such gems not only to get to know personally but to ride. Sitting by the pool, getting ready to go to an amazing dinner in the historic Ranch Room, eating that amazing dinner, and getting to know and laugh with the employees is something I will never forget. Listening to the authentic live singing of old cowboy songs is priceless. Meeting other families from places near and far and even making some good friends is always a guarantee here. The land is gorgeous and the bobcats, coyotes, and deer are the neighbors I've always wanted and I really miss waking to the birds singing outside my cabin. Coming back from dinner to find your beds turned down for the night and the next day's schedule never got old. I can't imagine it being possible to stay here too long. I can only sum the Alisal Ranch up as being nothing short of heaven.

Alisal Guest Ranch has to be one of the most beautiful places I have ever been. The horseback riding is wonderful through the rolling hills and oak trees. After being pampered there for a week it is hard to come home. There is so much to do besides the golf and tennis. There is a ropes coarse that is very challenging, archery and a staff of people that feel like family. But one of my favorite things to do there is just sit in the shade or by the pool and relax. Cannot wait untill next year and the only problem with the ranch is everyone goes back year after year so getting reservations can be tough. But glad they keep it small instead of getting bigger and loosing its charm.

If you like to pay $600 per night for Motel 6, then this is your place. The restaurant is like an outdated Shakey's pizzeria and the food is horrible. There is nothing to do after dark and it feels like a cemetery. you can't watch tv because YOU DON'T HAVE ONE!. David Koresh and Jim Jones would have a blast here with their cult like, no pulse staff and visitors.

Alisal is a great place for the family to go. I have been going to Alisal since 1989 with my family and have not skipped a year it is that great. They have many activities for the kids to do and also the parents. For everyone there is an arts and crafts room, they have a pool table and a ping pong table. Next to that is the pool and the volleyball courts and the shuffle board. They also have many activities on the grass next to the pool. They also have 2 golf courses, many tennis courts, a barn for horseback riding and a lake full of fish for you to catch. You can go horseback riding into the hills of the Alisal. The bedrooms are beautiful and confortable. The food is works around any type of eater. They have the buffet for breakfeast and sometimes a breakfeast ride up to the adobe. For lunch you can go to the grill that has a wide variety of food. Also there is a bar were you can get any kind of drink. For dinner you can have dinner in two different kinds of dinning rooms. Also there is a bar located next to the two rooms with appetizers. One of the nights you can have dinner up at the lake and also one night there is dinner next to the pool. At night they have things to do like bingo, story telling, and musical chairs. There service is great they will take you anywhere in Solvang. They are friendly and great people. It is a great place to be in the summer time.
