Don't bother stopping
By Wine traveler, 10/15/11
Your more cattle than you are a guest, this place caters to busloads of European tourist that don't get a choice. Rooms are old and,the fine dining is not worth the price. There really is no good restaurants in this town or anything else for that matter. Better to stay closer to Santa Barbara or Pismo Beach where you can find some great food and ocean views!

All around excellent place
By haley, 10/11/10
I just got married at the Santa Maria Inn. We had our ceremony on the Patio, cocktail hour by the pool and the reception on the grass area under the stars. The hotel room was fabulous! We stayed in a suite and the room was perfect for the girls to get ready in and a nice jacuzzi tub for the new husban and wife to enjoy after a long day. The staff was AMAZING! Front desk was very cheerful, wait staff was efficient, professional and a lot of them at the reception and Angela, the onsite wedding coordinator, was absolutly a gem. She was amazingly helpful, very professional and knowledgable on the wedding profession and my most important, everything was ON TIME; the ceremony, grand enterance, food served, cake cutting, everything. Our wedding day could not have been better! So nice to have everyting in one spot as well! No one had to drive and everyong was able to enjoy party till the end! Also we had a Farewell breakfast the next day at the Kent Room in the hotel and again the staff was amazing, food delicious and the room was just perfect. We had a great time and would HIGHLY reccomend the hotel for a night get away or for a wedding or ceremony location.

Amazing Ambiance
By Patty, 4/7/09
I'm a mother of three who tends to have a hard time being comfortable in hotels while we tag along with my husband on business. But this hotel was absolutely Aamazing! the front desk staff was kind and courteous to my and my children and they had fresh warm baked cookies waiting at check-in. The restaurant staff was also kind and courteous, hands down to our server Estella, my children Loved her. Our room was standard, but remarkably clean. My children and I look foward to my Husbands next business trip to Santa Maria! We will be staying here for years to come!

they stole my credit card
By mountain biker, 8/5/08
After I booked a reservation someone in the hotel's staff used my credit card number to play online bingo. They also bought a few things online. I had to close my credit card. They also overcharged me for the room. Avoid this place is the only advice I can give.

bad service
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/3/08
Most of the staff is very rude and did not seem to care about their customers at all! Would never stay there again! Rooms are not fancy as they are advertised. Looked like your typical hotel room.

Poor desk staff - lacks clean smell
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/28/08
The desk staff is poorly trained, inmature-rude not professional and unconcerned with quality or reputation. If there is a problem, they offer half-truths and do plenty of CYA unless you contact the manager and really who has time to bicker on vacation or when traveling for business. Rooms are okay but sheets and twoels lack clean smell, small repairs are overlooked like stopper for tub. I have stayed there for the last time - trash was left in the folds of the drapes - smelly Burger King Bag and security tried to open my door at 11:00 pm and then ran off in the other direction rather than stay and ID them - had to call front desk to clear up issue.

wonderful wine tasting!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/21/07
Great old english style. Good service. Great spa and wine cellar. I liked the small town feel and friendly people. Pismo beach is only 20 minutes away.

A good experience
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/20/07
I stayed here for a few days. It was a nice hotel. I was in the new tower and i found it very clean and well kept. The room was spacious and had the normal amenities (fridge, iron and board, etc.) It is in a great location right off Broadway and close to main st. The room was on the back side nearest the parking garage. That caused some noise, but nothing terribly bad. The staff was kind, but busy. The lobby and old wing are very quaint. Take the time to walk around and see the gardens, they are nicely kept. The main floor offers a gift shop and beauty salon and fashon botique. I checked several times but these stores were never open. Over all I found this hotel to be very nice.
