Hotel was quiet.
By ,
The hotel charged my credit card 3 times. I'm still trying to get 2 charges removed. No customer service. Will not return my calls. Restaurant had items on their menu that were not available.

No inconvenience too small
By ,
I can't believe my company made me stay at this place. The rooms are highway-motel grade. The gift shop was closed the entire time. No elevator to the upper floors. The entire campus is ragged looking. Doors open up to the outside and are visible from the street. Nothing is within walking distance. I mean nothing. No bars, restaurants, convenience or grocery stores. "Courtesy" shuttle is unreliable. Highway noise can be heard from inside rooms. A nice looking lobby and lounge plus some regular live entertainment do not make up for all the negatives. I wouldn't stay here for any more than $40 per night and do NOT stay here if you have kids. There is nothing for them to do.

Disappointed in management
By ,
I love the atmosphere of lounge and just recently had an opportunity to check the new club with a little Jazz feel to it, it was AWESOME including a live entertainment every Thursday, however, sadly to say, this club will not be a feature in Sacramento (something older folks would enjoy) and Sacrament needed for those 35 years of age and older. So why is it no longer available? Good Question. Could it be that managment does not want a certain type of people there? Not the first time discrimation has happen. I know that I will not recommend this establishment to any of my friends or coworkers. Potential business lost. Greatly disappointed!

Worst Motel..Ever!
By ,
I have traveled the United States and staying in hotels about 2-3 nights weekly since 1988. This Red Lion is by far the WORST, Filthy, and most digusting dump in the world! I would never reccomend to anyone. Carpet badly stained and soiled. Rooms and halls stink. The wallaper is peeling off the wall and the paint on the ceilng has large areas of rusted/brown spots where there must have been something leaking. This place is the WORST!

the room service guy farted in our room!!!
True, the place has had some major improvements done, but the service was terrible! We ordered room service (food was bland and cold) and the guy that brought it to our room forced out a giant fart as he was leaving! I was stunned! When I complained to the front desk, they thought it was funny. They just laughed it off. I really didn't appreciate being crop dusted in my own hotel room by a hotel employee. We won't be going back.

I was impressed
By ,
Looks like they were just finishing a renovation. The lobby had nice tile floors and the restaurant had good food. The lounge was huge and had lots of intereesting fixtures nad decorations.Atmosphere was kind of like a resort. I'd go back if back in Sacramento.

Not what we were promised
By ,
We were told that our room would be $79.00 per night and we were staying for two nights. They charged us $99.00 plus all of the usual taxes. The room had wallpaper peeling off the walls and the airconditioner didn't work, and when it did it was so loud we couldn't sleep! The room smelled musty and everything was old and soiled. But mostly there is no phone number for our kids to call if one of them needed to get in touch with us. Even 411 didn't have a number for them!

DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT STAYING HERE!
By ,
The parking lot was virtually "empty" when we arrived, although the hotel was hosting a 2-day conference. Yellow tape throughout the property, similar to that of a "crime scene!" We checked into our room, only to open the door to a dirty room, towels everywhere, and bed unmade! Did I mention the nasty, moldy stench?! It was horrible! We went back to the front desk and were given another room. This room also smelled awful! The carpet was filthy! The chair was filthy; you could see the stains! We stayed in the room only long enough to use our laptop to find another hotel! The hotel is going thru remodeling, but rooms should not be in the condition they are in. Best part about this hotel is location (Convenient to Mall). Finding the entrance to hotel can be tricky. By the way, 2 of the letters in the marquee are still broken, as stated in another review, dated March 2005!
