Much More Than Expected for a 2-Star Hotel!
By L., 02/18/08
This Motel has been completely renovated and is gorgeous inside. Nice, large lobby with comfo sofas, large computer room with 4 computers and 2 printers open 24/7, pool, jacuzzi, excercise room. The dining room with free continental breakfast is large with nice tables as well as the breakfast being fantastic - you can even make your own waffles! The room itself was large with queen beds, all new white bedding, new carpet, furniture, and new refrigerator, microwave, and large flat screen tv. It is a little out of the way but much more than we expected from a 2-star hotel.

Wonderful Amenities
By ThomasO, 05/25/06
In reading these reviews (including mine), I recommend checking the date of when they were written. Many here complained about filth, need of remodeling, and so on. Well, I think maybe they have remodeled by now, because everything I saw looked wonderful and clean. I had a suite with a kitchen unit and it was extremely well stocked, with enough place settings and utensils for four, at least, and a good variety of pans, serving utensils, knives, and so on. There was a 12-cup coffee maker and both regular and decaf coffee packets for that size coffee maker. There was a toaster and microwave. The little refrigerator did not seem to have a freezer section, though, but that didn't really matter. Albertson's market was in the shopping center across the street, so it was easy to get whatever I needed. The kitchenette even had salt and pepper and dishwashing liquid and a dish drying pan. I was in a non-smoking room and at first when I was cooking some hamburgers I worried about making smoke, but the blower in the hood over the range was powerful and I needn't have worried. Everything was perfectly fresh and clean when I was through. I was mostly there to do some writing and the desk was fine. As they offered free local calling (and I checked with the front desk to see if this would include internet usage, and it does), I plugged the phone line into my laptop and used a local Lompoc number that I had gotten from Earthlink before-hand. Very nice! There were two televisions, one for the living room area and one for the bedroom area, and they had HBO for free and also several pay-per-view channels. The room also had an iron and an ironing board in it. The weather was not warm enough for me to try the pool and the hot tub, but what they had looked nice. Also, they provide late afternoon snacks near by the pool (the "Hospitality Room") for $3.00 (free for some of the room plans), including wine, beer, popcorn, nachos, hot dogs, etc. for the $3.00 price. I checked it out, but didn't try it, because I am dieting (which is why I wanted the kitchen unit). However, for eating out there are several restaurants, coffee shops, and fast food places close nearby, some even within walking distance. Directly next door is a restaurant, but it was being remodelled at the time I was there. It's going to be an Asian Buffet when they finish. Service was wonderful and everybody was completely helpful and personable. One of the maids had a great sense of humor and we shared a laugh over something that happened. Lompoc, itself, was a perfect getaway--the town is small and friendly with good old-fashioned values. I enjoyed walking in their older section and looked at all the murals. Commercial flowers were blooming in the fields and the ocean was only about 20 minutes away. Next time I need a quiet but productive getaway, I will go back to Lompoc and this hotel, for sure.

Good price....

We have stayed at this hotel twice now and both times we were quite pleased. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Our room was clean and the breakfast buffet was adequate.

It's ok.

I like the fact that I can bring my pet, but I dislike the fact that it BADLY needs renovating. The web site looks great but when you get to the hotel - surprise! DSL is advertised in suites , but it is not true! Only one of that type of suite on each floor has DSL and you have to ask for it. It also does not have enough plugs in the room. If you are lucky enough to get the DSL room there is no plug for your laptop near the DSL port. You have to get an extension cord. Then when you use the DSL it errors out constantly!

So so
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/19/04
The place is not bad, I do think that it could use a bit cleaning up. All staff from the fron desk to the house relations, even the hostess in the breakfast room are all pleasant. Its nice to see everyone with a smile. the rooms and the breakfast room need some work, it is not appealing to eat in filth, other than this keep smiling.

Quality Inn, Lompoc
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/21/04
I like this Hotel.
I stay here every year for the four Day Dog Show At Ryon Park.
When we have Stayed the Hotel has been Booked Solid. Not one room empty. The Breakfast room clean and neat.
I do have one complaint. The service between front desk is not good. The fact that the hotel is full they are not able to answer the telephone.
And they could check out the fold out Sofa/Bed for missing hardware.
They have always been very nice in all respect.
I will continue to stay there whenever possible.
Also the "Best" place to Eat is "The Jetty" on Ocean. We all love the great Seafood and Chowder and nice staff.

What A Dump!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/09/04
This place was one of the WORST places I ever stayed in my entire life.

Every time I asked for something from the front desk it took calling them 3-4 times. I once asked for an ironing board and iron. After calling three times I returned to my room to find an iron, but no ironing board -------------- that took three more phone calls. I stayed in a suite which had a small kitchen to cook. I had one knife, one spoon and one fork to eat with. The hotel took a stainless steel bowl and punched about six holes through the bottom which I guess was suppose to serve as a colander strainer when cooking pasta ---------- it didn't work. I went out and bought a plastic colander strainer at Wal-Mart for $1.00 along with a plastic measuring cup for $1.50. It's a pity and a shame that the hotel couldn't do the same for their customers.

The place was old and a filthy mess. The rooms were dirty and the halls were dirty. The Continental Breakfast Room was also EXTREMELY FILTHY so much that I discontinued eating there, and would only eat in my room.

The housekeepers were terrible also. I stayed at this place for almost 50 days so I think I have a pretty good idea what the services were like ------- the substandard service never changed. One day I returned to my room to eat lunch and the housekeeper was cleaning the filter container from my coffee machine with some chemical from a spray bottle. From that day on I always made sure I cleaned my coffee filter container before leaving in the morning for work.

ALL the housekeepers did an incredibly lousy job at making the bed. They would cheat at making the bed by pulling the sheets down from the bottom and hardly ever changed them. I finally woke up and realized the only way I could get my sheets changed was to rip them all off the bed so it would be easier for them to put on new sheets than remake the old ones.

EVERYDAY my bed was made with lumps in it. I had a terrible stay at this hotel and would NEVER, NEVER, NEVER, NEVER stay there again, nor would I EVER recommend it to a coworker or friend.
