Overall A Very Nice Hotel
Likes: Location-extremely close to airport yet very quiet inside. Clerks were fine--professional (not too friendly, not rude, not chatty). Bar service was excellent but martinis were gimpy and a little weak for the price (about $15 for 2 smallish martinis). Restaurant service was excellent but I believe my 'baked' potato was 'microwaved'--steaming hot and not quite done. But the prime rib was just fine. Nice small fitness center, and small indoor pool on 2nd floor (we didn't use either but they looked acceptable). Also close to other dining in parklike setting on the Bay.
Dislikes: $13/night to park at the hotel--it wasn't advertised when I made reservations, but there it was at check-in! At your own hotel! Grrr. Internet connection was a plus--until I was rushed in the morning and it would not connect and I didn't have time to call for technical help.
The only reason I gave 4 instead of 5 on the cleanliness is because I'm a bath person and I had to fish out a couple hairs that didn't belong to us in the tub. But that was fairly painless--hair happens.
Overall, I loved this hotel and will stay again--despite the rude parking fee. It was quiet, wonderful for adults without kids. I noticed more business people and foreign tourists than families--which was a plus for quiet couple time. I think my hometown should charge San Franciscans outrageous parking fees when they come to my town--what a money maker! $18 for a few hours at the wharf, $13 to park at your hotel. Oh well--I love San Francisco! Hint: make sure upon check-in you get what your ordered. I reserved non-smoking, king bed on concierge level and clerk tried to put me in a room with two double-beds. Two normal sized people can NOT sleep comfortably in a double bed. But, she did manage to put us in the king room as requested. The bed and pillows were very, very comfortable.
