The Palmdale Hotel, Palmdale

Made a reservation for an overnight stay and booked a "Deluxe King" room. Arrived at 2:55 expecting to check in at 3:00 and was told by the rude receptionist that it would be at least another hour before we could check in. So left and headed off to the party I was up there for. When I returned at 11:15pm and was given the key to my room only to find it was not a King room but a double queen room. So called the front desk and was told if I didn't like it I could find another hotel. So I left and drove 3 hours home instead. This hotel has so many bad vibes and very shoddy. Difficult access into hotel, freezing cold inside, shady looking characters hanging out in the lobby and the staff very rude and unaccomodating. Don't go would be my advise.

Our soccer team was supposed to stay at the Palmdale and when last minute weather postponed the State tournament by a week, they refused to allow me to change our reservation unless we paid for both the night we didn't need and the (postponed) night of the tournament. All of the reservations for the soccer tournament at the Palmdale are affected. Other hotels in the area are more accommodating of the last minute change. I highly recommend AGAINST staying at the Palmdale.

Just got back from Palmdale and was I shocked at what they did to this hotel. I usually stay at other hotels but my agency put me at this hotel based on the reviews from other people in the company. Let me say again WOW, they spent the money on this one. I recall this hotel was a DUMP but now, WOW! The rate we got was under $100.00 and included a full breakfast and Drinks in the bar. Not sure if this was becasue of our company or with the new hotel they are trying somthing differant, yet the last hotel I stayed in Palmdale; all we got was a room and regular breakfast. I kid you not at The Palmdale Hotel I got a full breakfast; like eggs, bacon, toast, hash browns and drink. I was amazed and pleased. Book me again at this place anytime.

i have been utilizing this hotel for 3 years and it has undergone many changes -- all for the better. the old ramada is gone, the remodel is not yet complete but soon - - - my first trip to palmdale i was sceduled at a different hotel but the manage and staff there were too rude and stupid. i came to this hotel and because it was close by but expected nothing specfi9al. instead i was greeted by kindness, knowledge and caring. my needs are always attended to immediately, and i feel at home here. i come to palmdale every week on business and am glad to have my room ready and waiting. as a female traeling alone it is important to have a safe haven and i definitely feel safe here. sometimes i need faxing or need an importasnt document printed and the hotel provides me these services

I was somewhat concerned when I read the reviews at first but after I called the hotel and spoke to a Jennifer at the front desk. She told me that the hotel just went through a huge renovation and insisted I try them out. All in all, I got to give them five stars because it was the best sleep I've had in a long time and everyone working there was very nice. The rooms were great and I'm glad I gave it a try. If you do decide to stay there, check out the lounge cause if Kim is working, guarantee, you'll have a blast! My trip was great and well worth every penny.

Whatever I could say about the physical attributes has already been said, it's a dump. But I came on a business trip and my employer had taken care of the room but they demanded a credit card for "incidentals". I checked my statement which had fraudulant charges on it and checked with my co-workers who also had fraudulant charges! Not only a dump but shady thiefs too! Stay away!

Our very 1st clue should have been that there were only 4 cars in the parking lot. Scarey! We thought we would give it a chance. We were there for a softball tournament and didn't know the area. We did check in & got our keys & headed to our room. It looked real shady that we didn't want to get the kids off until we saw the room. Mother's imstinct & I was right! Filthy! I swear we were in the Bate's Motel. There was hardly any lighting in the halls, not to mention that there was not a sole around & talk about an unsafe elevator. There were broken doors with pad locks on them. We were told that this hotel was remoldeled. What a joke! The website is very misleading! This place was a total dump! We immediately checked out! The clerk was very apologetic & she noted that we did not stay due to the conditions of the hotel. She did inform us that we would be billed, but if we called the manager she could overturn the charge. Unfortunately the manager would not be in until monday, it was friday. We have tried to get in touch with the hotel's manager, Jennifer Carbo, and she was a poor excuse for a manager. She took forever to get back to us & when she did she informed us that her hotel was clean & we would still be charged. Don't stay here! Find another hotel!

When looking for a hotel in the Palmdale/Lancaster area for my daughter’s softball tournament, I figure I was safe staying in a “Ramada” hotel. Let’s just say I was extremely wrong. The Ramada Hotel in Palmdale is a disgrace to the Ramada name. Upon checking in we voiced some concerns about some comments we had heard from other parents staying their that they had read on the internet about the Hotel to the Hotel Assistant Manager Jennifer and she stated, “I really don’t care what you write on the internet, because people will write whatever they want”. This should have been our first warning. As we were walking to our room, there wasn’t any air conditioning in the hallways. (It’s over a 100 in Palmdale in the summer.) Only one elevator is partially working, as it gets stuck in between floors and takes up to five minutes to reach a floor. The maintenance worker said this was normal and not to worry about it. Now I’m scared! We get into our room my daughter uses the bathroom and informs us the toilet is not working. We call and the maintenance man comes to our room and fixes the toilet. (I will give him credit as he was really nice.) But we had to continue to jiggle the toilet handle to get the toilet to work properly. We turn on the air conditioner, because it is now at least 100 in our room upon check in. We leave so that the room could cool off. When we come back the room is mildly cool, but one of our friend’s air doesn’t work. We then take a better look at the room. The floors and walls are stained. The bath tub has patchwork paint on it. The bathroom floor is sticky. The mattresses are absolutely gross with stains all over. We go to put the food we purchased in the refrigerator and find out it doesn’t work. When we call down we are informed they don’t have any backups. When we go to take a shower, there is only one towel in the room for three guests. The 18/19 year old who answers the phone when we call tells us they are out of towels. (A hotel without towels for their guests!!!) I tell her there is only one in our room and she asks ME what is she supposed to do about it. I then ask to speak to the manager and she tells me she is the only person on staff. We had to shower and dry off with a hand towel. My kids and I wander down to the pool and there were people drinking beer in glass bottles poolside. One group had ½ gallon size vodka and tequila bottles on their table, while young kids were hanging around. There was absolutely no control maintained by the hotel staff. When we went to bed, I had to get a sheet from my car and cover the bed so that we did not touch anything. We wouldn’t let clothes or bags touch the ground in the room or anything else. If I didn’t have my kids with me, I would have slept in my car. There were absolutely no rooms in any of the other hotels or else we would have left. The next morning we checked out of the room and didn’t stay the two nights we had planned. Upon getting home all our clothes that were in the room was separated outside and then put in the washer as I didn’t know what we might have brought home with us. This was the most miserable hotel experience, I’ve ever encountered. I’ve stayed in some not so nice hotels, while vacationing at the river, this was by far the worst. This hotel doesn’t even rate a 1 star in my book.

This place is the worst place Ive ever stayed. The receptionist is RUDE!!!! VERY unpleasant, VERY unwelcoming. The rooms are DIRTY and VERY rundown! The water that comes out of the faucet is brown! The hallways are dark. The parking lot is unsafe and very dark. A car next to me had its windows smashed! I would not stay at this place again and will never recommend it to anyone.

We stayed for 6days to long. The first day,check in. The room smelled bad,and there was black mold on the wall by the airconditioner. We refused the room only to be sent to the twin of the first one.The airconditioners were full of dust,cobwebs on the ceiling,carpet was a real mess full of stains. Beds wern't great,but with our schudule we did sleep. We tiped the cleaning lady everyday in hopes she would do a better job.That was a mistake. Every time we flushed the toilet it would come up to the top like it was going to run over. The shower didn't drain eather. When asked questions of the cleaning persons. I speak no English.What a convenious for her. The pool was slimmy,with dirt on the bottom,one day I picked worms off the side and watched them sizzle on the bricks. Smelled like clorine,don't know how they were living in there.Checked out 1 day early because when we came in at 11 one night ,turned on the lights and the bugs were running around,I got one and the rest got away somewhere. So did I sleep. Went to the office had to walk around the Hotel in the dark,Police said it was a bad part of town and it would be best if we didn't go out after dark. Desk clerk said he was the bookkeeper only knew about numbers not bugs, Sent me to another room full of mold. I had to out weigh the problems was it bugs or mold. Went back to the bug room and took the bed apart to check it out. Finally went to sleep at 3 in the morning.Checked out in the morning,no tip for the cleaning lady.They shoul be paying us to stay there. I wonder where is the health department in California,and what do they do.There should be a sigh on all the rooms doors that say enter at your own risk.
