Noisy, Noisy, Noisy
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/20/11
My family and I arrived hoping to have at least a decent short rest before we had to leave at 4am for our international flight. When we arrived, we were scolded for not temporarily parking where they wanted us to (it's a driveway--we were being dropped off, and they screamed at motioned at us like we were idiots), then the bell man refused to walk over to our vehicle so we had to back up, and the front desk area reception wait was VERY long, and either the receptionists just didn't know basic computer skills to look up our reservations, or they were just plain stupid. We got there at 8pm. Between partying, loud music, and people running through the halls (and 2 phone calls from us to complain about the noise), we got NO sleep for our 8 hour flight. With young children. I have never despised anything in my life, but thanks to Hacienda Hotel, I have learned what it feels like to have hatred pumping through my veins.

Great Place!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/28/11
I love the Hacienda Hotel! My boyfriend and I ended up there when we missed our flight. The airport shuttle is clean and comfortable. The drivers are always helpful and so friendly. The hotel itself is very cute and clean. The front desk staff is kind. The second time we stayed they gave us early check in at 8am. Even once you check out they'll hold your luggage til you need it. It's stored in a locked, secure room. The room is always clean and comfy. They have a really cute south lawn and pool area that smells of flowers when you walk out to it. The two restaurants attached to the hotel are yummy and affordable. Really, who could ask for more? All of that for only $79 a night. A better deal can not be found.

Mistress and I
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/19/10
My mistress and I hook up at the Hacienda regularly. Sometimes we dance or dine (SOCAL mecca for West Coast Swing and Sunday night Salsa) and then hit the rack for a wall climbing, yelling, screaming and moaning break from our over pampered and preposterous significant others. The hotel is usually noisey and our high decibel love making is seldom noticed nor scolded with those "we know what you were doing" looks in the hall. Overall, a 9.5 for an excellent stage setting for romance, love and lust. Yes, the front desk folks are inexperienced and sometimes down right snits but what can you expect for 70 to 80 a pop. The linens and sheets are clean. Lots of Europeans and Middle Easterners. Fun to know we are excercising our bad fun behavior in their presence. They might think talking in their foreign tonques is cool but little do they know we are mooning them behind our closed doors.

The Hacienda has Character
By judith davidson, 3/30/10
We stay at the Hacienda every time we travel through LA (which is once or twice a year) as we love that it is not so sterile and pretentious. We always choose the South Tower with the folding doors that open to the swimming pool and let the cool breezes in. The rooms have always been clean and the staff has always been wonderful. We even like the bus drivers that drive the shuttle to the airport who make every attempt to get us there on time. I love that the parking is a block away as I like the exercise. I love the food at the Hotel restaurants and I love the fresh fruit waters (lemon, lime and strawberry) that are complimentary in the lobby - so refreshing. There are two things I do not like about the Hacienda: The little lobby store is over priced and the hotel will not save a specific room for you; it is on a first come, first serve basis. The Hacienda is a great accommodation in every respect. Of course everyone has a different experience; this has been ours. We find it delightful.

Just a terrible experience
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/17/09
First off, the parking is ridiculous. You have to pay to park a block away from the hotel entrance and then walk another city block to get to your room. The hallway was hot and danky. The room was stuffy and hot. The thermostat was decades old and there was no air circulation in the room. There are giant doors/windows that you can open, but there are no screens, and since everybody else is so hot in their rooms and have there windows wide open, there is no privacy if you want air. The TV only had a few channels and most did not come in clearly. I think the mattress was salvaged out of a World War II Army barracks, or POW camp. The bed had two tiny pillows. I should have stuck with my gut. There is a reason why this hotel is so cheap to stay in. And, you get the joy of dealing with homeless folks and other idiots while you are road marching from your car to the hotel. Then, you hope you can get your car out of your spot since there are not enough spaces and guests are forced to park wherever they can and block many cars in. Stay at a Motel 6 if you require air, pillows, and parking in the same zip code.

Management needs a big wakeup call.
By USNJetJockey, 1/1/09
This hotel has great potential but is terribly run. I stay here on average 3-4 times per month but that may soon change if management doesn't start doing something about the day to day operations of this hotel. The airport shuttle is my biggest complaint. I fail to see how a shuttle can leave the hotel every 15-20 minutes, yet if you are at the airport waiting for a ride to the hotel, you can sometimes wait over an hour at times without having shuttle drive by. If this doesn't change soon, I will not come back. I have several friends that no longer stay at the Hacienda for this very reason. The employees working at the front desk seem to mostly be young kids from eastern block countries that have absolutely no authority to make decisions on their own. Check in can be painfully slow and disorganized at times. The rooms are dated but fairly clean. Just don't plan on sleeping in late however. The housekeepers start early and are LOUD, screaming at each other up and down the halls and banging their carts into walls and doors as they go. The bathrooms area also fairly clean but could really stand an upgrade. WiFi is free but sometimes does not work for hours. Reporting this to the Front Desk only gets you an 800 number to call which is a total waste of time. On the plus side, the Mariposa coffee shop is OUTSTANDING! I actually come and eat there sometimes when I am sitting around LAX on a layover. There is also a plethora of restaurants within walking distance of the hotel. There is a Ralph's grocery store right across the street. In summary, the hotel is a below average hotel with an above average location if you need quick access to LAX. The hotel seems to cater mostly to foreign tour groups and could really care less about individual travelers. This is a shame because this hotel could be a really nice place if a little effort was put forth. The owners need to clean house and replace the current incompetent management with someone that can do the job!

HORRIBLE PARK/FLY SHUTTLE SERVICE
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/29/08
I cannot stress enough how horrible our experience was with the Hacienda Hotel near LAX. The accomodations were okay, but the service we received after our trip was TERRIBLE. After a long day of traveling, we finally arrived back at the airport. While waiting for our luggage, we called the Hacienda to inform them that we needed a ride to the hotel to get our car (which was parked there during our trip). We patiently waited for 30 minutes. I called again and told them we were still waiting. 3 other groups of people were also waiting for the same shuttle. They were all frustrated, as they were waiting a very long time as well (outside, in the cold, windy weather, I must add). 45 minutes went by as we watched a shuttle go by and completely ignore us. Finally a shuttle pulled up and told us that they were full, so we would have to wait for another shuttle. That was it - we decided to pay for a taxi to get back to the hotel. On the way to the hotel, the taxi cab proceeded to tell us how he gets MANY complaints about the Hacienda shuttle service. We arrived at the hotel and started to explain our dissatisfaction to the front desk clerk. She would not give us eye cotact and when she finally did, she rolled her eyes at us. Upset, we asked for a manager. She turned, scoffed at us and stormed back to get a manager. We explained to the manager that we had to pay for a taxi to get back, after waiting nearly an hour. He apologized and said there was a big group that needed to be picked up. We stormed out and noticed 4 vans parked on the side of the building that were not being used...interesting...rides are supposed to be arranged every 15 minutes to and from the airport, but only one van was running.

Never Again!!!!
By Pat M, 3/29/08
The parking was terrible you had to walk a block to the hotel, then you had to pay $5.00 per day for it. The front desk staff was not that welcoming, then there was a long walk to the actual rooms. I have traveled the United States and have never endured this kind of hotel service. NEVER AGAIN!!!

Great for Budget Traveler
By GerrieG, 3/14/07
The desk staff was snitty but you only deal with them on check in. The cafe staff was very, very slow and couldn't care less. The room (in the main building)was old but clean. Bed was comfortable. The housekeeping staff was the best part of the stay. They were very helpful and pleasant to deal with. Bell desk was very, very helpful and cordial. After the cafe experience we didn't try any other eatery on site. Hotel lobby comfortable and has computer terminals available (for a fee). The location is great. Easy freeway access and very close to the airport but airport noise is not an issue. Lots of places to eat within walking distance.
