Frequent guest
By Alan, 10/17/08
I travel to SF every month for 3-4 days and this is on our company web site. Yes, the rooms are small, but the suite is nice and I usually get an upgrade. I have found all the rooms to be clean, the staff to be helpful and freindly. It's a short walk to Aqua, Perbacco and other nice restaurants. I had the occasion to bring my wife and adult daughter a few months ago and they bothe enjoyed the place. Especially fun trading stories with othe guests over wine in the evening. Are there better hotels in SF. you bet-at three to four times the price!

Don't ever go here. Management is dishonest.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/15/08
This place is terrible! Don't ever go here. Staff and Management are rude. My reservations were confirmed by phone before apprival and upon arrival they changed my bed size and gave me an interior bedroom. Management was holding out on the room that they had available with the original sized bed, acting like they didn't have anything available in the size that I requested and had confirmed. They are dishonest and I will never, never stay at this place again.

Amazing service and beautiful hotel
By Jett Phillips, 6/30/08
This place was great for a long weekend getaway. It was in the Financial District which wasnt by all the Piers but there was plenty of shopping which was great for me. I mean there is a Coach store and Nordstrom just a couple blocks down. Everything can be reached by public transportation. I would stay there again next time because they had amazing service. The hotel staff was so helpful. They had a wine sampeling every night but we missed it because there was so much to do. I wouldnt really recomend this place for families because the rooms arent very big. They were fine for me and my fiance but not so much for children. Also the beds were very comfy. Enjoy the fireplace and nearby shopping.

Very Impressed
By txbsn11, 5/23/08
I had apprehensions about staying at this hotel based on some reviews and lack of pictures for the junior suite, however I am glad I did. The hotel is located within walking distance of everything. From Union Square to Chinatown to the Moscone Center to shopping, it is a diamond in a sea of ordinary. If you are looking for the run of the mill hotel, this is not the one for you. It is eclectic but tastefully designed and gives you the feeling of home...at least our home. My husband and I were lucky enough to stay in a junior suite which was offered to us because we found a lower rate after we had booked directly with them. (you must do so within 24 hours or reservation) The room was what a normal sized room may be elsewhere and the other rooms we saw were small but if you are going to visit, and not spend all your time in the room then they are perfect size. Room service was actually cheaper than visiting the restaurant they get it from across the street and unless you order by nine, there are very little options around for food. The only complaint I had was the air conditioner. It didn't feel like it was putting out much for a room that size and we had to open a window in addition but come to find out on the last day the heater in the other window was on simultaneously with not way to turn it off. Once the window was open it cooled off, but if you run into that problem be sure to get earplugs if you are a light sleeper. The bed was a little soft for us but we are used to sleeping on a Tempurpedic. We did not partake of the wine service but thought it was nice seeing people mingle and enjoy each others company. I must say housekeeping was outstanding as well as the concierge. The complementary WiFi was alright but we are used to higher speed internet. The bathroom was small for a junior suite but not complaints about hot water or being dirty at all. Overall I am glad I did not change my reservation, because we saved a lot of money with their price match and got more service and comfort than if we had paid three times what the original room rate had been. Do yourself a favor and stay here, not only will you leave your heart in San Francisco, but also at the Galleria Park Hotel.

Old
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/4/07
The service was nice, but the rooms were small and everything was old. This place needs re done. I hated the bathroom because it was smaller than my kids closet... and there were two large closets in the room, so why not take one out for more space in the bathroom? I don't think we're the "boutique" type.

Benefits at the cost of having a small room.
By Kenneth, 11/9/06
The best thing about this place is the location. You are right in the middle of the financial district, minutes away from Chinatown, the Embarcadero, shopping etc. So in that aspect it was great. The new decor is actually quite nice. The room we stayed in was very small. I have no clue how they got a king size bed in there. The bathroom really got me feeling claustrophobic. The shower was so small it was a wonder I even got the door closed. Free Wi-Fi in the rooms and free wine in the lobby at night. Generally we had great service although depending on the time of day some of the staff can be a little bit smarmy. Valet was reasonable and quick. I would recommend the Galleria Park Hotel to anyone who is willing to sacrifice space for the great location. Try the Argent Hotel a few blocks over, it's very nice.

Vacation from Puerto Rico
By Rose T., 7/6/06
I don't even know where to start. I travel a long way with my husband and my two children. I booked this room two months ahead of time. When we got there our room was a box so small that one person would have been uncomfortable. I asked them to put us in a two beds room, and they said they didn't have any rooms available. My husband had to sleep on a chair that night, and I slept with my two kids in full size bed until the next day, they got us a two bed room. Also, when we got there, they were going to send someone to get our luggages, and we waited outside approx. 10 minutes, and no one showed up to help us. We had to make two trip to the car. They wanted to charge us $48.00 for parking (can you imagine charging that much to your guests?). There's a few public parking in the same street at $19.00 and $21.00 for the night parking. I don't know what they were talking about the wine at night, because I didn't see any. To make matter worst, they advertise that everything is walking distance, and it's true if you want to walk six and seven blocks. Well our experience in this hotel was so bad, that I wouldn't stay there again even if it was the last hotel standing in San Francisco. I would not under any circumstances recommend this hotel to anyone.

What a weekend!!!
By David, 5/23/06
Made reservations online based on the hotel's immediate proximity to Perry's, where we'd be attending a function that weekend. We were not disappointed! From the doorman, to the bellman, to the front desk, everyone was friendly and polite to a "T". The hostess during the free evening wine hour(s) was friendly and outgoing. The room (423) was exceptionally clean, and even though it overlooked Sutter Street, noise from the street was barely discernable. The bed was comfortable, the pillows old fashioned (the kind you can bunch up). We slept better in that bed than we have in a hundred other hotels! The air conditioner worked fabulously, and all of the lights are now energy saving flourescent. TV, complete with game controller, honor bar (very well stocked), and amenities in the bathroom made for a very comfortable and relaxing atmosphere. Convenient to Chinatown, Union Square, Market Street (Bart & Muni buses), it is an ideal location. We'll be back!!!

Good place to stay on SF visit
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/24/06
Had to go to SF on short notice - one of the last places with open rooms that was less than $200/night. On first blush walking into the room I thought that it seemed small and old - but it turned out to be just right. It is an old building with a bit of the paint peeling in spots, but the room was comfortable. One notable point was that the bed and pillows were very comfortable - my wife is very picky about hotel pillows and she was very comfortable. The bathroom was small as was the room overall. We were on the 3rd floor over Sutter St. – there was the usual city noise – buses, sirens, trash trucks – but you are in the city and it was not bad at all. The hotel service was good - very attentive. The lobby has computers for free internet access. There was coffee in the AM and wine in the evening free in the lobby - a nice way to relax after a day of sightseeing. There is a decent bar/grill attached to the lobby with B/L/D. If you are in town to see the town it is perfect. You are near BART and muni stops that can get you all over and easy access from Oakland or SF airports. Right by China town and the Embarcadero - easy streetcar ride to fisherman's wharf ($1.50). All-in-all, we would definitely stay there again. Clean, comfortable, simple & convenient.

Very good experience
By Mikey G., 11/28/05
For the price I paid for this hotel ($72 a night for an on-line special), this was an incredible value for San Francisco. The Galleria Park Hotel is just 1 block from the nearest train station and bus stop, and 3 blocks from a cable car route. This is a safe, clean, and classy area of San Francisco - the Financial District. Wireless hi-speed internet was very reliable and useful within my room. The room and furniture was a bit on the dirty side, with the couch having numerous stains on it. This hotel has complimentary wine in the evenings, though I did not choose to utilize this option, I noticed several people each night participating in the first floor lobby. Air conditioning worked very well in the room. Overall, this was a great value for the services and cost. I highly recommend this hotel.
