Clift, San Francisco

I live in the city and still stay here whenever i need some tlc... Plus, after a wild night at the Redwood Room, just flash your key to the security and stumble into the elevator and up to that yummy bed with lots of squishy pillows!!! bye bye hangover!!

After booking a $325 per night loft style room, obviously designed for enjoying the room, this wanna-be CIA uniformed security team (3 men) knock on my door at 9:15 pm and tell me the hotel provided stereo system is up too loud. Oh, you mean the one you so graciously advertise is in every room. The one you rent out CD's to be played in?? You mean the one that is hooked up to a subwoofer somewhere underneath the bed. My volume is set to 23 and it goes up to 50. Well it's your voice too, it really carries and the walls are very thin. Hmmm... I'm in here all by myself and I'm not singing so I'm sorry but I can't help. By the way I didn't see any advertisements about the room coming equipped with thin walls?? But I do remember them touting the Nakamichi stereo system more than once.

Gee, if I wanted this kind of attitude I would have gone to L.A.

This modern style hotel is centrally located. But it's like taking a time-warp to another planet. The rooms are nice. Have a drink in the Redwood room, downstairs. Dont forget to stare at the "paintings" on the wall. I hear they tell a story. not sure what it is.

Ya-its hip-its very Starke-if you need an uber-cool SF local-this is it-dodgy neighborhood somehow adds to it all. know what you getting into-not the quintesental SF experience....but fun

The crowd is great and so is the Dj, ALI. Its always nice to have geat service. Theres not to much of that anymore.

What a fabulously cool hotel in a great location - Union Square. If you have ever stayed at the Delano in Miami you will love this place. (same hotel groups owns the clift) Only con is it can be kind of noisy at night due to the party atmosphere.

I have stayed at the Clift several times for business over the years, and they never cease to please. Fabulous service, lots of space, all of the amenities, great bar in the lobby. The rooms are beautiful in a non-generic hotel way, and I have been upgraded for free (for no reason other than being a barely frequent visitor) to the suites which are absolutely spectacular. One of my very favorite hotels in San Francisco.

Want to be seen or go to see? This is the place to be. Was great before the remodel, but the new look has grown on me. Great scotch and martinis. Great rooms and service. A little crowed from time to time but that is what it is all about, right? Try it you will like it.

For that "I haven't left New York" feeling, one might want to head to the Clift Hotel. Hipper then thou bounces man the doors, sneering at you if you aren't Britney. When you check in you get a special "Guest Card" so you can enter the oh so cool Bar. Please people, We are in San Francisco! Rooms are small, beds are comfy, showers have the strongest water pressure possible without being a power washer. Not so shabby, until one realizes how much they paid and then has their friends turned away at the door because they don't have a "hall pass." Welcome to the Junior High of the jet set.

Contemporary styling, comfy bed, down pillows, dvd player, top notch service, hot spot restaurant on site, awesome room service. Need I say more? And I got it all for a blow-me-away price, on a weekend. Right in the heart of the Upscale shopping side of San Fran. I'll never stay in another hotel when I go to SF. I'm sold!
