Warning! Don't stay at the Estero Bay Hotel.

First of all, the description of this place is very misleading. It's not steps from the beach and the walk to the pier is quite a ways. When I first called to make a reservation, I was told one price and then charged another higher when I arrived. I had planned on staying 3 nights but after seeing the hotel, I didn't even want to spend one second in it let alone 3 nights. I was stuck for the first night, they had my credit card and I was shocked when I checked in (thinking I would endure one night in this dirty, disgusting place), I was charged for 3 nights. I immediately looked for another place to stay but no other rooms were available for that night. And they had my credit card number. Feeling trapped in this place, I told the front desk that we would only be staying two nights and would never return. I was then charged extra for the two nights plus a "handling fee". Plus charged for local phone calls. Okay, now to what happened at the hotel. The rooms were dirty...floors sticky, rugs filthy. No hot water and the electricity went off when ever we plugged in the blow dryer. I strongly recommend against anyone ever staying there, even if you are desperate for a room. Better off sleeping in your car.
