Dirtyland Hotel
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/7/10
Very disgusted. Rooms are bigger at Motel 6. Our room hadn't been vacumed and there was candy and cereal on the floor. A pair of dirty socks greeted us just inside the door. There was used bars of soap stuck to the bathtub and empty shampoo bottles in the shower. The sheet had a coffee stain on it. (at least I hope it was coffee.) There was old coffee and coffee grinds in the coffee maker and no new packets of coffee. A dirty plastic cup on the bedside table was still there 3 days after check-in. If our kids and grandkids hadn't been staying there we would have left. Best thing at the hotel was the Lost Bar. We needed it after seeing our room.

It was 'ok'.
By David, 3/21/10
My son and I stayed at the Disneyland hotel in January and it was ok. Overall I was unimpressed. You pay a fortune just to be close to the parks compared to the shuttle hotels within a mile of Disneyland, which for half the price will get you a suite, instead of the small, regular, clean but dated and unimpressive hotel rooms at the Disneyland hotel. We stayed at the Paradise Pier last year and it was much nicer. Still, we went back to Disneyland earlier this month and didn't stay at either Disney hotels. The 5 minute shuttle ride from any of the surrounding 'suites' hotels is quite bearable when you realize you're saving a couple of hundred dollars per night.

A meaningfull and needed Vacation.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/24/10
The focus of our trip was for my daughters 6th birthday, but came back home with much more memories and with a clear mind.I was diagnosed with an overactive parathyroid and needed surgury but at this time the doctors were not certain what the out come would turn out to be.When my husband and I and our two disney kids arrived at the hotel it was so great, yet we were traveling all day from Tucson,az,It was wonderfull to be greeted by none other then GOOFY himself,we got hugs and smiles and the best was when my 19 month old son did not stop looking at him and just was laughing and clapping, that was such a memory, when we got to our floor,5th floor 2305, standard room,it was clean and everything in place and the bathroom was clean and smelled fresh and the decor was beautifull, that night was so relaxing the beds were wonderfull and room serice was fast and everything was there that ordered,I took a pic of the service gentalman for a keepsake,The only thing that I can give a low score to would be Ariels ghrotto restaurant,it was very pricey and the food was a set menu, but I was hungry shortly afterr, but afterall I ws going there for my daughters best birthday Ever ..At least that what I was told by her.By being in the DIsney guest book by calling the hotel direct you can be sent WONDERFULL DISCOUNTS though your e mail. I had the surgury Im losing weight by exercise and Im great and going back to disneyland and the disney hotel this comming May,for the November trip I saved $737.00 from the original price and Im going back this May with inlaws and Im saving again, this time $559 bucks, being a member online paysoff greatly. SO I WOULD TOTALLY RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL TO EVERYONE WITH LITTLE CHARACTORS,AND EVERYTHING IS IN THE BACKYARD SO TO SPEAK,I LOVE THIS PLACE.

disappointed!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/13/09
We arrived at the hotel at 3:30pm. Room was not ready. So much for the 3:00pm check in. The carpet was very dirty. We had use our slippers in the room. The bathroom is very small, dirty and outdated. The front door is placed in the center of the room not to the left or right. Poor use of room space. The room really shows its age. I guess it's due to the old building. Disney needs to demo the three buildings and rebuild a brand new resort. On the positive side, room service was very prompt, complementary coffee in the lobby, the Neverland pool is nice and the grounds of the hotel was quite nice. Location is good. Take the monorail to enter the park. Very convenient. I would not recommend this hotel for the rate they are charging. If you can afford it, I would highly recommend the Grand Californian. First class hotel. Otherwise, staying at a hotel/motel off site would be much better.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/10/09
We have stayed at several of the hotels including the Disneyland Hotel and the Grand. The service level at all these hotels have declined SHARPLY. Utilizing Guest Services, Guest Communications and hotel management is a waste of time. I can guarantee the service you will get is all lip "I am sorry this occurred", etc. The hotel management does not care and we were taken back as they did nothing to try to correct situations (ie items left in our room were taken when - their hotel housecleaning staff left ALL our doors open for over 8 hours and then they claimed the items were not in the care and custody, overcharging for items in room service needed for a sick child, etc). It is sad that the hotel management is steering the ship and cast members in the direction they do. Other than location, rooms were average, very outdated, (expected "tickerbell pixey dust"to light up on the ceiling as described to us by the hotel when room lights were turned out...everything so faded you could not see it), and service is really in the toilet to be frank. .We will be going to other hotels where many of our friends have stated they were far better in comparison and much cheaper. I should have listened to the advice we received.

just okay...
By Ashley, 5/25/09
I was REALLY excited about staying at the disneyland hotel, I had previously stayed at the paradise pier and was really impressed and I figured since the Disneyland hotel was $100 more each night that it would be that much better. It wasn't. The room wan't nearly as nice. I am 5'2 and I practically had to duck in the shower, the shower head was really low. Maid serivce was AWEFUL, i think they replace the towels and made our beds and that was it. Not that I expect them to pick up after us but, atleast straighten up a little! We really looked forward to swimming in the pool but never made it- we were beat by the end of the day. It was nice to be so close to downtown disney. But for $100 less each night I would rather walk an extra 50 yards and stay at the Paradise Pier next time. I love everything Disney so I feel bad writing a negative review but I was so dissapointed with our stay and we will probably never go back.

Disappointmentland
By hammer, 4/24/09
Nothing to set it apart from the cheaper hotels as close to the park entrances. Smelled bad, room was dirty and worn out, noisy, power outage, and the staff (except for woman in gift shop) below average.

LOVED Mickey Character Quarters!
By Janell, 4/6/09
We booked a double queen room with the connecting Mickey room for the kids and LOVED it!! The Mickey room was fabulous! The standard room alone would have fit all of us, with one kid on the daybed/couch, but it would have been tight. We had plenty of room with 3 adults in the standard room and two kids in their own Mickey room. It was great to have two bathrooms as well. The grounds were fun - we felt like we were "in Disneyland" the whole time we were at the hotel. The only downside was that we couldn't afford to stay there for our entire visit, so we moved to a nearby less expensive hotel for half of our trip. Would LOVE to go back! I would definitely recommend the Character Quarters for the kids.

wont go back
By MikeS, 2/25/09
We only stayed one night but got right into our room at 10 am and it was gross didnt like it at all I will only stay at the Grand from now on. The grounds were cool at the disney hotel and the lost bar was great, we for sure had to stop there on the way to the room and have a couple of drinks before we could face our room to sleep. It is close to the monorail so that was great and so close to espn zone which has the best burgers and drinks. I dont mind the valet 17$ charge well worth it for them to park your car and take your luggage. But we just loved the Grand Californian so much better.

Nice Disney Hotel
By shelley, 10/22/08
Stayed at the Disneyland Hotel for 8 nights. Clean basic room. Big vanity area was nice. Kids loved the pool. Hard to get a chair or lounge in the middle of the day. Food was good at Crocs Bits and Bites. Pleasant stay, no issues. If you plan on walking to the parks through Downtown Disney its about a 5-10 minute walk. If you are going to Disneyland use the monorail station in Downtown Disney.
