Cupertino Inn, Cupertino

My experience at this hotel has been quite terrible. My first encounter with the staff was in the lobby where the night manager, with every disregard for any customer service skills, treated me as if I was an doing him a favor by checking into his hotel. Even-though I had previously reserved my room at a particular price with the reservations manager, he insisted that I was not entitled such price. His communication skills were terrible and made the situation really awkward. While checking me in he carried on complaining about co-workers, something completely unnecessary in front to customers. After cold welcome I managed to get to my room, which smelled oddly and had a few suspicious stains on both the carpet and the furniture. Later during my stay I received a complaint from the front desk because of excessive noise, which is completely understandable since I was having a late phone call with someone. I wasn't being particularly loud, but the walls are quite thin and badly insulated so it was inevitable. The part that bothered me was the way he addressed the subject. These were his own words: "We've received a noise complaint and it has to stop or we will have to throw you out." I've never heard this ever before at any hotel in my life after traveling quite a bit. It takes someone some great lack of common sense to approach a customer in this way. I really recommend staying away from this hotel.

I stayed there for 5 and a half weeks. It is very different from regular chain hotels. The people in the inn do provide the same service but with a human touch. It's not the impersonal 200 room bunker with luxury reception area. It's a great place run by great people.

Service was very fast and friendly. Big smiles. Check in took a total of 2 minutes. I was in my well appointed and comfortable room in another minute. After a long day traveling and troubleshooting companies' problems, a comfortable room and speedy service make the day a lot more tolerable. Tons of easy parking. The location is perfect. within one block are Kinkos, food, gasoline, drugstore, grocery, clothes store and freeway on and off ramps. The included breakfast that is way more than danishes. It has a spread of hot food, including eggs, bacon, sausage, potatoes, as well as oatmeal, cereal, fresh fruit, fresh milk, juices, hot coffee, hot teas, fresh assorted pastries. Free local newspaper, too. I hope that my company sends me here again. Next time I will bring my swim trunks.
