Worst hotel experience I have ever had......
By Candra, 7/4/10
I live in Central CA and drove to Anaheim, I was meeting people at DisneyLand, and I had family in from Iowa. This was supposed to be the highlight of our trip together. The first sign that we had a problem was when we realized the hotel was not one block from Disney as they advertised on their website. What an incredible farce. We assumed we could walk to and from Disney. That way we could enjoy a drink or two. That was a disaster, we ended up driving, because it was cheaper than all of us riding the shuttle. Next we arrived at 2:50P and the room would not be ready until 4:30P, because there was a wild party the night before and the room was not clean. So, the people we were meeting at DisneyLand were waiting and waiting and waiting, until we finally had to split our party and send half to Disney and half waited for the room. Finally the room was ready and we get in the room and the lock on the door was broken. It took another 30-40 minutes to repair the lock and when my daughter asked the repairman and housekeeper how long it would take they both began to speak in another language and called her crazy, they just assumed we were not bilingual. Then when my granddaughter took her shower, she was the first one, she had to wash hair down the tub before she could bath. It was at two bedroom suite, and would have been a nice room, had it been ready, had it been clean, and had it been one block from Disney. The hotel is very basic, no real amenities. The pool was small and boring. We stayed at Embassy Suites last year and it was a wonderful experience with the pools, and bridges, and roaring lions and free breakfast. They did give me $70,00 dollars off of my bill for my trouble only after my daughter demanded they call a manager at home, because there were no managers on duty on the weekend. And when I called the customer service hotline, they were rude, unprofessional and said, So, what do you want me to do, then they transfered my call to the front desk of the hotel that I was complaining about. Horrific! And ruined my gift to my children and grandchildren.

Best price, best location, best decision!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/11/10
We had friends visiting from Europe with a five year old and we have a four year old, so we spent only one night Saturday and next day at Disneyland. Got the AAA rate of just under $80.00, with taxes and resort fee, just a buck or two over $100.00 a room. Don't be misled by the rates, this is not a low end hotel and frankly I've paid twice this for less! Staff helpful, attentive and friendly. Restaurant/bar on site excellent service, tasty food, large portions, humorous waitstaff, good view of fireworks and no need to drive. We chose not to walk to Disneyland due to young kids, but probably could have. Shuttle was $4.00 for adults and $1.00 for kids, fast, efficient, and cheaper than parking at Disneyland and was a welcome sight after long day of walking around Disneyland. No hassle leaving our bags with hotel while we were at the Park and leaving our car there was easy. Quick access to the freeway when you are ready to go. Rooms clean, pleasant, quiet, nicely furnished, comfortable beds. Only downside I can think of is that you are isolated from other restaurants and businesses that you get at main gate or along Katella or Harbor, but Downtown Disney experience close enough if you need something. Since we were there only one night, didn't need or want all the other choices. Very quiet location and while we normally stay in top end hotels and resorts, this fit the bill for our cost conscious friends, especially for one night. Not sure I'd stay here for more than a couple of nights, but I'd come back to this place again without hesitation. Overall, excellent experience.

an absolute unbeatable value near Disneyland
By Patrick, 1/15/10
We stayed at this hotel for 8 nights. The location is excellent, I think unbeatable near Disney!! If you choose to walk, it is only a 10 minute walk to downtown Disney and then about 5 more to the main entrances at the parks. The walk is easy if you are with children as there are no major streets to cross. Just head south on Walnut to Magic Way and then west and you are there, very convenient. Another nice thing about the hotel is it is located adjacent to a residential neighborhood and offset from the nearest thoroughfare (Ball Rd) by a gas station so the location is very quiet and low traffic. If you dont want to walk, Anaheim transit vans stop by the Hotel every 20 minutes and unlimited rides to the park are $4 for adults per day. The hotel staff was excellent always offering help with questions. We will definitely stay again, the value here can not be beat!!

Don't hesitate to book
By Susan, 5/25/09
What a pleasant surprise! I never cared for Holiday Inn's anywhere and was reluctant to staying here until I read all the pos feedback on Travelosity and saw how it had been remodeled/refurbished. 81.00 a night for 2 queen beds and free upgrade to suite if available is rare when Disneyland is right around the corner! This wasn't winter rates either. I felt I was walking into a brand new hotel and staff was super curtious. Clean, modern, tastfully decorated rooms, comfy thick mattresses, in room free Internet hook up and PPV TV. If you need anything all it takes is a call to frond desk and they accomodate you with a smile. Even housekeepers were very curtious. OLDER REVIEWERS NEED TO SEE CHANGES! Obviously they listened. Shuttle comes every 20 min. at Hotel and Disneyland to pick you up for 4.00 a day. Better than parking at Disneyland and waiting in crowds to get tram to front gate then back to parking structure. Definately more walking added to your day if you don't use shuttle. The only thing I found lacking...and I mean ONLY...was the lack of a mini fridge in standard rooms. Suites have them. Pool is great especially with kids and spa was a blessing for our tired legs at the end of a day walking around Disneyland or California Adventure. We didn't use restaurant which only serves a continental breakfast for 6.95(kids are free) and they no longer have room service like older reviews stated (another reason to have in room fridge) but there were plenty of places close by who deliver great food to hotel. We used them.Downtown Disney is around the corner and chock full of Restaurants and free parking. I think I've found a place I will stay at time after time from now on with my frequent visits to Disneyland. I've paid twice the amount of these rooms for far less accomodations. All around pleasant experience!! :) Keep up the good work.

We had a wonderful stay!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 4/13/09
First, I would like to thank Nalanie and her manager for upgrading us to a suite, due to my boys conditions. That was very kind and generous. The extra amenities and spacious room helps us take care of our boys needs. That was a real treat for the whole family. The staff was very nice and accomodating, our room and the hotel was very clean, the location was wonderful because we got to see fireworks from DIsneyland every night. The hotel is located behind the Disneyland garage and it's a close walk to Disneyland. The pool was (I think 4 1/2 feet deep) which was safe for boys. The hot tub was a good size that fitted many people. We would definitely recommend the Holiday Inn to others and we would definitely come back again. Thank you Holiday Inn! The Lee Family

Perfect for my needs!
By Kelly, 5/12/08
I wanted to spend my 21st birthday in disneyland so my b/f and I scoured the net looking for a good deal - when we saw the $81 a night offered at the Holiday Inn Anaheim we booked it, not knowing if it would be exactly up to par. However - the staff was extremely courteous and helpful - we asked to switch rooms upon check-in and they asked no questions back just did it right then and there, we even added an extra night at the end of our trip and there was no problem whatsoever - they also helped provide us with directions to other local attractions. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. Beds, bathroom, towels were all fine. We stayed Sun-Tues so there was very little noise. Restaurant in the hotel was convenient and good service. Free internet very helpful with my laptop. Best thing of all - the .5 mile walk to the disney trams felt like nothing - to me and my b/f it seemed literally just around the corner. Very good deal, very clean hotel, very great location. Will stay again!

By A Yahoo! Contributor, 4/13/08
What a fantastic venue, resonable, close to the action, extremely helpful staff (complimentary shaving cream brought to the room when I realise I forgot mine! Brilliant), big room, comfortable bed, great shower and bath and most of all clean! Well done, when we come back to Anaheim this is where we will go..special mention to the Restaurant staff too - lovely food, cheap price and tip-top service!

Clean-Quiet-Value for the Money
By Nan, 2/15/08
My sister and I took our 3 grandchildren to Disneyland and stayed here for 2 nights. Our rooms were very very clean and the beds really comfortable. The onsite cafe doesn't have an extensive menu and is rather pricy, but with kids eating free it averaged out. Staff was very nice and helpful. The (paid) shuttle to Disneyland was nice. However on the way back to the hotel it is a bit of a wait for the shuttle and with three small children the wait on cold cement benches was a bit too long. The rooms were quiet, clean and comfortable...no frills but then for the price we didn't expect any.

Some Good / Some Bad
By Larry, 5/14/07
We had reserved a suite. We tried to check in early in the day but the rooms were not cleaned yet, That was OK as we were early. They assured us our reservation would be honored as the reservation was pre-paid. When we came back in the evening to check in they had given away our suite and offered an extra room for no charge in compensation. We took the extra room as there wasn't much we could do about the problem at that point, but we were very dissatisfied not getting what we had reserved. The rooms were clean and comfortable and other than the above problem our stay was enjoyable.

Not too shabby...
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/7/06
This hotel isn't as far as you think from Disneyland. It's right around the corner and it's a pretty good value. It's in good shape, too. None of that gross 80's art deco. Very warm and inviting interior. Don't eat breakfast there, though. It was cheap and stale. Go to Denny's, it's right down the street.
