adequate,, nice view
By JJ, 11/18/07
I was there for a 55 th class reunion.. It was perfectly o.k. clean, coffeepot, wonderful view,.. The outside stairs are an accident waiting to happen.. beware... and had to walk and walk to find a working ice machine... My friends stayed in the newer "Hampton Inn".. but I found it o.k. for the price, If they upgrade and modernize it will be first class, because of location.

Unbelieve and not in a good way!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/01/07
First off i want to start with the pro's, we were able to check into our room 1hour early, and thats about it! The room we checked into was unbelieveable, when we first opened the door we enter a astortuf patio that smells like cat pee, we than walk into our suite and the smell there is worse, there were stains all over the walls, carpet, and couch, we were afried to even sit down. The bed i would not even let my pet dog sleep in it, stains on the headboard, blankets, and than hanging from one of the posts of the bed is a dirty towel. we call down to front desk and tell them our feelings, and it was like, "ya, ok" , a few minutes later they call us back and say they will have another room for us in a hour, the next room was a little nicer and without the odor. what was going to be a romantic weekend away turned out to be a view of the horbor and thats about it!

Affordable but won't go back
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/12/07
As my husband said, " this would have been a great place 20 years ago." It is really outdated. There was a hole in the ceiling and wall. The furniture was scary. It was afforable though. We got a suite for $100 which was very useful since we were traveling with a baby. The staff also did not have my reservation when I got there and were very unprofessinal about it almost blaming me. It was allright for the money but I won't make a trip back there again.

Old and Shabby - go elsewhere!!!
By J, 06/18/07
THIS IS THE WORST HOTEL BY FAR. The room smelled. The building is old and needs to be replaced. The marina view is excellent, but there is no access. The furniture is old. We needed to ask for wash clothes and towels. The room was not ready when we arrived at 4 PM.

I will always stay there.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/03/07
Location, Location, Location. So the rooms need a little (or a lot) of repair they are quaint and charming. I used to live in the area and as long as the prices remain reasonable I don't see how anyone can complain. I love the place!

Worse than Motel 6
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/03/06
I stayed here while on a business trip because I was tricked by the nice-sounding name. The room condition and service was so bad I couldn't sleep, and I ended up changing hotels at 3am.

Poor choice for Father's Day!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/19/06
This must have been one of the worse hotels I have ever stayed at. We went to our rooms and walked into a horrible odor. There were no towels to shower with, our toilet paper was wet , and our shower head was broken. There were no towels around the pool area. All of the ice machines were not working. We also requested towels at the front desk and never got them. You would think that a hotel being booked up for Father's Day would be a good sign. It was not! I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the Oxnard area.

It's a Keeper!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/31/06
We loved the beautiful view of the harbor and the pretty grounds. Our room was emaculate, appeared to be new carpet and matresses and bedding. The staff were kind and pleasant to be around. It is our hope that we may return in the near future.

Its affordable and it reflects
By MyWebDesignSource, 07/25/05
The hotel was right of the marina with sailboats and local commercial tour boats passing by. Its a nice view but you can't really enjoy the water since there is no access. The room we got had a "stale" smell so that was not a good first impression. The rooms needed some upgrades and there were lots of chipped paint and tile in the bathroom. There were three pillow in our king size bed and they where so small and not fluffy at all. Its probably a 25-30 year old pillow so our night trying to fold these pillow to make some sort of fluffy pillow out of it. The air con was week too. Suprisingly, the room we got had two patio area. One private one and one leading to a common grass areas shared with other rooms. This was nice, but we had to close the patio doors at night fearing break ins. The mini ref was nice with free coffee and hair dryer. The room (the one without the marina view) was bigger than a normal hotel room, again with the two patios.... .its actually lots of space, like a mini suite. The price was great as I just made the reservation a day before. Overall, the hotel was below average. I would not go back there again. Its an old hotel to my standards with no "ahhh nice" accomodations. ~ryan, Torrace, California
