Close to everything..

We have stayed at this location before and will go back. Your only two blocks to Main St. where you have your choice of fine restaurants or fast foods. The Habit is best for burgers just 2 blocks west of the hotel or the Irish Tavern on Main St, great Irish food and drink. Ventura Pier with in walking distance and if your a golfer 4 courses very close. Rooms are clean and breakfast is good with waffle makers. There is a problem with the train noise but it's only a two or three a night and they don't last forever.

We enjoyed our stay

My wife and I have stayed at this Best Western many times and enjoy it. We have a room in the corner we always ask for, the room is clean, there is lots of parking and walking distance from down town. The breakfast is a great value added. Can't wait to go back.

What a breakfast!

That is what impressed us the most! Probably the best breakfast options we have seen in that price range. We stayed there around Christmas time during a road trip to the bay area. Good service, clean room, friendly staff at the front desk, helpful with directions etc. Nice, calm location although just a couple of mins from the freeway.

would never stay here if you paid me

I was booked at another Best Western hotel, but had a problem with the key and was trying to find another Best Western close by. It was midnight. I called the Best Western 800 number and they told me that the Best Western in Ventura had a room and would hold it for me. I asked them to make sure there was someone at the desk and to make sure he would hold it; I was coming from approx. 16 miles away and was unfamiliar with the area. The representative told me she had spoken with the manager, Eric, and she assured me he would hold the room. I was alone with a teen age daughter. When I had just about reached the hotel, I called to confirm the location. Eric said sorry, I just gave the room away. I ended up having to drive another 45 minutes to Oxnard.

Train tracks right there

We spent two nights as this hotel since everything in Santa Barbara was booked or out of our budget. For the price that we paid it was okay but not exceptional in any sense of the word. There were three trains that went right by the hotel in the wee hours of the night that woke us up each night which was the biggest draw back. The hotel was also currently doing construction on it's usually lobby area so they had set up a temporary lobby/check-in area in one of the rooms with the continental breakfast next door. All of the staff was polite and friendly. We did not use the pool.
