I had no dislikes about the place. I was helped right away. Everything about the place was clean, from the parking lot all the way up to our room. The continental breakfast was good. The coffee was good!! :) I would most diff stay again... the price was great.

Excellent

Actually this hotel was recommended by a staff member at the Travelodge Monterey Bay (they were booked). The hotel was very clean inside and out. Staff was excellent. Room was very clean. Me and my little one stayed here and felt very safe and I would highly recommend staying here. I definitely give it 2 thumbs up!!!

Affordable and spacious...
By Jessica K, 10/07/07
We had a family gathering in September and found the DeAnza Inn to be quite nice. This was one of the more affordable hotels in Monterey that was still close enough to Cannery Row. Very spacious rooms and friendly staff. We're planning on staying in the hotel again when we return to Montery in the spring.

Great place to stay
By Willard, 08/24/07
We were attending an event at the Monterey Fairgrounds just a couple of blocks away. Being able to leave our car at the Inn and walk there saved paying $20 to park both days that we attended. The accommodations were fine, slept like a log, it was quiet. We even tried the pool and spa, they were good too. The only thing missing - at breakfast there was no waffle maker. But Denny's is right next door. In it's lobby this Inn has the cleanest Koi pond and happiest fish I've ever seen.

Overall, very nice
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/15/06
We stayed 2 nights in total over the weekend, and all in all the stay was fine. All I would say is that it's not close to the attractions on offer in Monterey. The hotel itself was great value for money, but it wasn't close to the beach, downtown or Cannery Row/Aquarium which was a little inconvenient. I did find the staff to be friendly and helpful, the room large, clean and comfortable. Just be prepared for a drive anywhere close to attractions, and we found parking in Monterey a problem...

A decent, clean place to stay in Monterey
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/28/05
Stayed there when we went diving and had no other options available. All of the other branded hotels in town were outrageously overpriced because of the Jazz festival. The room was spacious and remarkably clean. Easy access to downtown and Cannery Row. Included a basic continental breakfast in the lobby for quick eat and run. Nothing is cheap in Monterey so this was a good alternative when everything else was booked. It's still a motel, though, so don't expect The Palace.

Good Stay
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/08/05
Stayed for two nights at the De Anza in November 04. Found it to be an excellent choice for anyone visiting Monterey. It was only a few minutes drive to downtown. The rooms were very clean and of good size. The desk was well organized and courteous. The only negative was that the lobby and corridors were under renovation, which in itself presented no problem ie noise, etc. The renovation is probably over now but would not have stopped me from staying there.

A Great Place to Stay
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/19/04
My elderly mother, myself and my toddler stayed here while visiting the aquarium. The staff was friendly and helpful, the room clean and spacious and the location was central to all of the places we wanted to visit. My only complaint, although not enough to keep me from returning, is the walls were a little thin and sometimes you could hear toilets flushing and others talking. However I would recommend this hotel to others. The desk clerk even went out of his way to help me track down my lost purse in Milpitas!

Delightfully surprised
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/18/04
We visit Monterey often to play golf, and usually stay at the Marriott. However, the last trip was on a very busy weekend and the Marriott was full, and there weren't very many choices left. We discovered the de Anza Inn (had never heard of it before)through a local reservation service, and though it is a limited service hotel, we were very pleasantly surprised with the accommodations, especially considering that we were going from a Marriott to a Best Western. Don't let the fact that it is a Best Western fool you though - the room was quite a bit larger than the Marriott's and very nicely decorated and clean. the fact that the rooms were inside with hallways made us feel better security-wise too. The building is modern and upscale-looking, and actually looks brand new, though we found out it was built in the 80's.

The staff was very friendly and efficient, and even managed to get us a reservation at one of our favorite restaurants even though they were booked. The location was also quite convenient and easy to get to. I would have to say, for the $ it's a much better value than any of the "upscale" places I've stayed. we will stay there again.
