Arlington Resort Hotel & Spa, Hot Springs

My daughter and son in law stayed here for a convention and I was i was alarmed when they called to say the room was robbed while they were at a meeting in there establishment. The rooms were not clean and in much need of updating. The children were not even offered room compensation. They lost medication, purse, ipad, cell phone and credit cards. Much time was lost being sure these were canceled. Would not advise staying here, as either staff is involved or their key contol is not where it should be. They offered to pay deductible on their insurance but that only puts a clain on their insurance premiums. If elevator would of held over four people they may have entered a room being robbed in process. This is most certainly not where you want to host your next convention or trust your belongings. This was this last week so beware.

Charming decor and design, but the cleanliness is way below standard. This hotel is definitely not a 4 star. I have stayed in hotels in 38 states and this was in the bottom 25% for cleanliness. The room AC unit had visible mold, the air in the corridors smelt like mold and there was thick greasy dust on the skirting boards in the room - and in the open visible areas, I wasn't game to look behind anything. Trash was left in the corridor for 2 days uncollected and the only way we got the room cleaned was to get the Housekeeping manager to personally come to the room. Having other people's toenail clippings on the floor for 2 days was just gross! The Conference Center AC outlets were BLACK with dust and mold, making the rear end of the room smell. Several of our friends complained of headaches, sore throats and sinus issues after a short time in the room. The foyer and lobby area of the hotel look great and the location was terrific for us, but this hotel needs to find some cleaning and maintenance crews who actually do their jobs, and the management need to walk around and look at their facilities before someone gets real sick.

I was scared after I read some of the reviews, but was pleasantly surprised. The front desk personnel were courteous and helpful, rooms were clean but basic, and location was great for downtown shopping. Only stayed 1 night then moved to somewhere more plush. If you don't use the valet ($15) then you have to park in a garage about 1/2 blk down from the hotel

When we first arrived, we had mixed emotions. It was around 7pm but there was no more valet parking available, so we were forced to park down the street. We had three men in our group who were more than capable to take the luggage up to our rooms, but they would not let us use a cart without using a bellboy. The place was beautiful, great from the outside and wonderful front desk and lobby, even the hallways were nice, but the rooms were not much better than a motel 6. Of three rooms, two bathrooms were broken up, chipped floors, doors that wouldnt close, and for some reason they didnt have shower curtain liners, only fabric shower cutains that were mildewing because you had to leave them on the inside of the tub to keep water from getting all over the floor, but it isnt meant to be submerged in water, so it looked very nasty toward the bottom. We stayed 5 nights and even when we put the "do not disturb" sign on our door, we stilll had room service. Rude maids, they yelled at us one time for us asking them to come back later. Food was pretty good, and the service in the dining room was great 5 of 6 meals we ate there at the hotel (breakfast was the best!). Bath house was wonderful, the service there was also great, but one morning our waitress was the same person that had given one of our party her bath the day before, embarrassing at first, but she got over it because she was too hungry to put any energy into it!!! The location was great, we had facials and got our hair done in the salon, they were also great. The over all experience was pretty good, and at the end of it all, the pros outweighed the cons. We had a good time, but if you dont have lots of cash, you may want to just stay at the Howard Johnson down the road a bit, youll get the same type of room and you can still go the Arlington for all the extras. Oh, they dont have internet in the rooms, only down in the lobby, and you have to pay a bit for it, and if you have a Mac, you wont be able to do much more than get your email, it had a problem staying connected. The PC laptop had a bit more success.

Whenever I get a chance for a 3days weekend getaway, I always stay at the Arlington. I love everything about the place. The room has a romantic setting and every view out of the window is just wonderful. Every thing is in walking distance. Highly recommeded for anyone who wants to relax and enjoy nature.

The resort is very old so there are some parts that look like they need some work. The food is good and room service is prompt. The honeymoon package is a good deal. You can choose to recieve a complimentary bottle of champaign or breakfast in the morning with this package. The town of Hot Springs is a dump so if you are looking for attractions outsid of the resort, I don't recommend this location.

I loved the Arlington. It has so much history. The bathhouses are just down the street where Franklin Roosevelt bathed for his polio. I sat on the balcony on July 15,2005 and looked down on the live Blues/Jazz band. I just sat and took in the atmosphere and watched the people dance. On both of the Arlington are historic shops that you can walk too. You can get on a horse drawn carriage just down the front steps. So much history in one place.

The hotel was in GREAT location. Parking was Horrible!! We had to leave my car across town!!! Our room was tiny, and quite nasty. Food was excellent though. Bathhouse was alittle retro, it kind of scared me and my girlfriend. Overall please save your money and just walk by to see the Outside beauty of the Arlington.
