Good Hotel Ruined by Poor Service
The Sheraton in Tucson seems like a pretty solid hotel. The rooms are nice, there's a beautiful pool in the courtyard, and the facilities are overall quite solid. The restaurant isn't bad at all, and the rooms are large and clean. Based on all that, you would think it's a great place to stay if you're in town for a week.
Unfortunately, the poor service we received overshadowed all of these positives. While there were a few people there who were quite helpful, most of the staff, particularly at the front desk, were somewhere between disinterested and downright rude. As an example, one morning we were waiting for a shuttle ride. I was standing in the lobby area for at least fifteen minutes past when the shuttle was scheduled to arrive. I asked the man at the desk about the shuttle, and he told me it had just left 'a few minutes ago' and that I must have missed it, when I had been standing right there all that time! I pressed him on it, and he was simply disinterested and didn't care to do anything to find out where the shuttle was. Sadly, this was typical of my experience here.
In summary - good facilities, bad service. If all you need is a room and not much else, it's probably okay; but if you need to use the hotel's services, you might want to look elsewhere.
