Dreaming of a creek side cabin? Briar Patch Inn has the answer, with 17 cottages tucked along the banks of Oak Creek in beautiful Oak Creek Canyon. Dressed in rustic comfort, these cottages accessorize with Native American art. A crackling fireplace warms many visitors. Most cottages have one bedroom and sleep two to four people. The Heron, Eagle and Creekside each have two bedrooms, and the Ponderosa has three. Borrow a book from the on-location library and curl up in your own patch of sunlight on nine acres of ground, or call your hosts to arrange a therapeutic massage.

A bit down-at-the heels
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/07/08
We had looked forward to staying at the Briar Patch since it had come highly recommended. Unfortunately, it did not live up to expectations. Although a charming setting, the cabins have not been updated in 30 years. Our bathroom was small and dark.... actually, the whole cabin was dark. Perhaps the most troublesome issue was finding bugs in our bed, between the blanket and sheet. Since there is no overnight staff, it was suggested that I clean behind the bed myself! At the rate charged, I expected more. The compensation offered was not especially generous.

relaxation!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/23/07
My husband and I absolutely loved the Briar Patch! The service was excellent. This is the most relaxing place we have ever stayed. The food was so yummy. My creekside massage was the best I have ever had and the cabins were clean and cozy. The grounds of the Briar patch are absolutely Beautiful. We can't wait to go back!

Paradise Retreat
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/23/06
Briar Patch was a wonderful retreat for relaxation and comfort. The landscape is beatiful and inviting. The people are warm and friendly. You know how important it is to them that you are there by the way they welcome you and see to your needs. The breakfast is "delish" to say the least. I would recommend it to anyone of any age, singles, couples, or families.

sedona's - secret
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/29/06
Not visible from the canyon road, this enchanting place provides - an experience way above and beyond any other place I've ever spent time at. Fireplaces burning at night in most all of the rustic charming cabins giving off odors of Wood only found in the southwest - permeating the property like incense. Wherever you are at on the property you can hear the rushing waters of Oak Creek...so calming and relaxing. The grounds are beautifully landscaped - great huge trees, hedges and ground cover remindful of a gardens one might find in a woodsy English village. Each cabin - uniquely and tastefully decorated with Native American /Southwest decor. Throughout the day if lucky you might be walking a path and run into one of Briar Patch's permanent resident wooly sheep! The breakfast - served within a large stone lodge - 2 fireplaces, a library and tended with such care and love that there is a natural respectful quietness of guests. The breakfast - perfect and always delicious - you may choose to take your breakfast out to an area of tables and chairs that is on the edge of the creeks bed. Flowers - and music played by guest muscians. I have gone to Briar Patch and stayed 5 times within the last seven years and cannot wait to get back - to such enchantment! R. Redmond

A True Gem on the banks of Oak Creek
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/19/05
From the rejuvinating yoga class, artist demonstrations, breakfast on the creekside terrace with classical accompaniment, summer concerts, healing creekside massage, and friendly helpful staff- I cannot imagine another vacation with out the Briar Patch! This is a true oasis on the creek with cabins like the Casa De Piedra offering a private deck overhanging the gently flowing waters. I hesitate to share my secret getaway, but all the world needs a place like this one. AO

Relax at the Briar Patch Inn
By TessS, 07/06/05
We stayed here for 5 wonderful nights in 2004 and are going back this year (but sadly for only one night) - just because we enjoyed it so much the first time. The cabins are charming and somewhat modernernized while retaining their rustic origins. Breakfasts by the creek are wonderful - even better on the days they had live music. It seemed a world away from the hustle and bustle of a busy tourist area. So calming and enjoyable. When we stayed, there was a good mix of couples and families. You do pay a price for all that charm - so this is probably not the best place for bargain hunters. However, the full kitchen can certainly help with the budget during an extended stay in the Sedona area. Note - there's no pool - but there is a private swimming hole on the Creek. Just like a traditional Inn, there are no phones in the cabins and the office closes in the evening. If you like places where you can relax with a good book, a glass of wine, and hear nothing but the gentle sound of the creek... you too will fall under the Briar Patch's charm.

A great place to retreat!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/07/05
I stayed spring 04 and would stay here again without hesitation. It was so pretty and relaxing. Large grounds for strolling. Walk to the creek. Cabin was quiet, immaculate and decorated in Southwest theme. Wonderful wood burning fireplace. They provided cd player with music from local artists. Homemade breakfast items available in main house which overlooks the creek. Lots of birds and squirels. A wonderful place to get away from it all and enjoy nature!

going back soon, but not soon enough!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/30/04
we have been returning guests for 6 years, since a chance stay there one night as we traveled thru Sedona our first time... the cottages are classic, and uniquely rustic, beautiful, and very comfortable.... each offers a variety of ammenities, some with full kitchens, so it is a home away from home.... each morning offers a delicious, healthy, homemade breakfast able to be eaten outside along the creek.... and my kids love Wooly and Bully - the resident sheep!... awwww ~ now I wanna go back again!....

my favorite hidaway
By ChristianneD, 03/17/04
Need to get away from the world? Stay here at the Briar Patch Inn. I stayed here over the summer last year, and couldn't have asked for a better getaway. Be sure to check it out - it's beautiful and completely worth it.
