Great Location-Poor amenities

The location can hardly be beat. The area is amazing. The hotel itself leaves a lot to be desired. We stayed in November. We put the heat in the "comfortable zone" before we left to enjoy the sunset. We returned to a stifling hot room, even though the outside temperature was in the 30's. Even with frequentl lowering of the thermostat, we experienced a very warm night.
The room is very "bare bones". Poor quality linens and furniture.
The staff in the cafeteria were polite and helpful. The man at check in was impatient and rude.
I would try for another hotel at the rim, if possible. If not, then I might stay here again because of the proximity to the canyon.
