Don't book a room here!!
By Val G, 3/28/09
The hotel room is out dated and dirty. The carpets were almost black, the sheers on the windows were gray from dirt. The sink in the bathroom was backed up. The pool bathroom was disgusting. The pool itself was nice. The breakfast was good, although the small bowls at the omelet station was also dirty, I had to sort thru about 10 before I could find a clean one. One nice thing I do have to say is that the staff is extremely nice and accomodating. I would never stay here again. We paid almost $170 a night and felt completely ripped off.

Nice for a vacation
By Sean, 10/14/07
Stayed the for the first week of Oct 2007. The rooms are nice but a bit dated in design. The grounds are beautiful and well maintained. However from a business traveler's perspective I had a few issues. 1. No wireless internet in room. The only wireless that is available is in the lobby and my connection was very spotty in there. There is a network port in the room you can physically connect to but it is located next to the sofa in the living room and does not have enough cord to reach the dining table on the opposite side of the room. This means all your work will need to be done while sitting on the couch, which in my room sagged very badly in the middle. 2. The ATM was out of service for the entire week I was there. Each time I inquired at the desk about it I was told a repairman was going to arrive later that day. 3. There are no desks in the rooms. If I was on vacation and not on business these issues would not be an issue at all. The rooms come with a very roomy refrigerator and microwave, two television sets (one in each room), and the enormous lagoon like pool is well kept and centrally located. So in short, excellent for a vacation, perhaps a pass if on business.

lots of extras
We loved the free buffet breakfast and after dinner cocktails. The breakfast was HUGE, and included made to order omelets and hash browns--fantastic! We loved the huge pool and jacuzzi, and the lobby was very spacious and elegant. Our room was great too--had a fridge, microwave, and plenty of room for kids to hang out. We loved this place and would come back again. Only disadvantage is relative distance from any interesting sites.

Good place to stay around that area
By onesoy, 7/15/04
I stayed there last week July/2004 on a business trip. Daily complimentary breakfast is wonderful! Room was dark. The lights have to be on. Windows were facing walk way so you probably wouldn't want to open the curtains! Pool is round and shalow, nice to soak in - but forget doing any "swimming". Room service is great. Exercise room is adequate. Wireless internet access available, free, only in the lobby area. In-room wired hi-speed is available for a fee of $10 for a 24 hour period. It worked fine for me the first day. On the second day, I was having lots of trouble getting on the net and finally gave up (I had to pay the $10 for the 2nd day anyway!)

Overall good service, but I wouldn't pay over $100/night for it!

Nice hotel, varying rooms.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/23/04
My wife & I stayed here 3 nights in March '04. We made our reservations through Hotwire and got a great rate ($72/n.) Unfortunately, we had a smoking, 2-double bed room. Smoking was not a problem as it didn't reek of smoke, but the double beds were too small for us to share one.

The hotel is sprawled over a sizable piece of property. There are 12 2- and 3-story buildings with rooms on both sides. All the rooms open to the outside, motel-style. In the middle of the buildings, is a wonderful courtyard/pool area. The grounds are very nice! The pool is large and the landscape is well manicured. The interior rooms would be far superior to the exterior rooms, like the one we had.

The room numbers have the floor in the first digit, the building in the next two and the room number in the last digit, as there are 10 rooms per floor per building. It appears that the odd-numbered rooms face the interior and the even ones to the parking lots.

Buildings 3-8 line the west side and very near I-17. Our room was here and was a bit noisy, although not too bad in the bedroom. I would try to avoid the even numbered rooms in those buildings.

The rooms were nice and fairly clean, though a bit below the standard for most Embassy Suites. The only issue with our room was that the air vents were very dirty, covered in mildew and dust.

The service was adequate, though we were disappointed they weren't more helpful in accommodating our room change request. The lobby is nice, with the restaurant making up part of it. We only used it for the free breakfast buffet (which made this an even bigger bargain.) The breakfast was pretty good, along the lines of other Embassy Suites, which is better than most free breakfasts.

Overall, we were satisfied with our accommodations, especially with the rate we got. I think rooms normally run $99 - $130. I would recommend this hotel, if you can get one of their better rooms.
