Nice place, but needs a little repair
By Teresa B, 08/23/08
A beautiful place, but after we checked in, we found we had no water. Apon calling front desk, we were told it was in repair(a leak of some sort).I guess I was a little annoyed that we were not told this on our arrival. We had water fairly soon. Then we found the bathroom sink stopper to be closed (broken). The restaurant and bar were very nice with good food. Would have preferred an area more easily to picking up those odds and ends one needs for their stay. Front desk did offer items like toothpaste and razors, which was very handy.

Good facility, average staff
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/05/08
We recently stayed there with our two young children. The location is good because it's close to Old Scottsdale. The breakfast was impressive and the breakfast staff were very helpful. The grounds are nice - especially the landscaping and large fountain. However...when we arrived we were tired and hungry after a long day of travel. First impression - I asked the front desk associate for some dining suggestions and he gave me a blank look and told me he didn't know because he was new to the area (hello - there were 3 others standing there that he could have turned and asked.) I called prior to check in and requested a crib - which was not in the room when we arrived and it took over an hour for them to bring one to us. We requested additional towels and that also took a long time. The housekeeper left a bucket of cleaning supplies in the bathroom. Internet connection was spotty (wired in room). My final impression - when I checked out, the front desk staff associate was rude and acted like I was bothering her.

Don't let the outside fool ya!
By baaha76, 09/20/06
This place was great. The conitental breakfast is sooo much more and will last you for a long time. The pool area was great for the kids. On site sports bar was wonderful for four large screen viewing. Bedrooms/suites were equiped with a bar with sink and fridge. I loved this place and the price was great! They even had free internet in the lobby. Close to downtown Old Scottsdale area.

A 5 Star hotel with a 3 Star price
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/23/06
Hotel was an excellent choice for a recent July. 2006 4 day trip. Chaparral provides all the comforts of the larger more spread out hotels in Scottsdale, in a more comfortable setting. The included full hot breakfasts and afternoon cocktails make it an excellent value for families and anyone looking for value without sacrificing quality. None of the hotels in the area are jammed this time of year, but the 2 hotel pools give you plenty of room to spread out. Also there is no comparison to having a suite vs. a very nice hotel room. Very near major mall shopping.

Very nice place to stay
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/07/06
The hotel was kept up very nicly. Our room was clean and spacious. I would stay again when returning to Scottsdale, it is located right in the center of town and not far from the airport.

Spring Training
By LoriK, 08/03/05
This hotel has a great location, within walking distance to the mall, local restaruants and downtown Scottsdale (busy roads though). Nice courtyard, friendly staff. Could use some upgrades to room decor also kind of noisy at night because of the room set up (outdoor entrance). Not a typical 'resort', think more low-end Embassy Suites.
