BEST WESTERN Coronado Motor Hotel, Yuma

Local 1 Star for architecture and history .8 Star for cleanliness .7 Star for bed comfort - mattress beginning to wear will change as mattresses upgrade. 1 Star for pool, exercise room, wired internet .8 Star for restaurant and breakfast The Coronado Motor Hotel is a Southwest travel classic. The earliest advertising I've seen for it was 1948. It's been kept in very good shape. When you book a room here, you must understand you are rooming in the mid-history of motel construction, remodeled. This is a huge complex, a block long on both sides of the street. There's variability in room sizes, setup and apparently quality, depending where one stays.. The Coronado partners with the Yuma Landing Restaurant offering a choice of complimentary egg/toast/meat and hot/cold cereal/toast breakfasts, where one finds a collection of Yuma and aeronautic history. There's also a bar and a lot of televisions to keep you informed of the news and sports of the moment. The flat panel screen in my room is a monster, about 52", the images on it so big, that if my wife was broadcast on it, I could almost hug her. It also has a CD/DVD combo connected to it. My room has wired internet, refrigerator, microwave & coffee maker. A block from the city nad county business complex, You'll spend some interesting time in historic Yuma.

I was refered to Best Western Coronado by a couple of friends of mine who just came back from a week stay at this motel. I was very happy that they refered us to this motel it has a comfort of home feeling. The staff was very friendly and the rooms were very clean and the restraunt were we had our free full breakfast was excellant we even went for dinner and or lunch at this restraunt i would very much recommend this motel as a place to stay when visiting yuma arizona.

The rooms were great as always but, this past three times staying here I had unknown amount of dollars taken out of my account. Other BW at the end of my stay would have the exact amount stated and I would see no later changes on my bank statement. I have noticed recently that this place took extra $$$ from my account which I never knew why. I have now found another Hotel to stay whenever I stay in Yuma.

This hotel is HORRIBLE I stayed there for one night and room was filthy. The pillows looked as if they were never washed; the window curtain didn't close completely, therefore, anyone passing by could see u on the inside. In the morning when I went to the bathroom There was a Big Fat Dirty Roach in The Bathroom!!!! That just killed my entire experience.

The only positive was the staff was at least friendly. I didn't see anything that had been remodeled, the place looked like it was directly from the 1940's and was run down. The room was dirty, windows that were very difficult to close had been left open and dust was all over everything. There was a layer of mud on the window sill in the shower. Bathroom was tiny, furniture was too big for the very small room, making it hard to move around. The "second floor" is actually across the very busy, very noisy street. I would only stay here again if there were no other place available and I could not just sleep in the car.

My family and I stayed at this hotel in 8/04. I only have one big complaint, and that is, the floors were filthy. Yes, the floors were vacuumed, but I wouldn't let my children walk around after seeing how black my barefeet were. EW!

My family was headed to Texas to a resort last Christmas and unexpectadely got held up for a week in Yuma. The staff and workers at the Coronado Best Western where the best. Our room included a kitchen and we were made to feel at home while we were there. It is not fancy, but a clean, restful, and convienient place to make yourself at home.

My family and I have been staying here since 2000. We love that you can "rent" movies free and that breakfast (a real one, not continental) is included with your room. The restaurant is right across the street! The only hang up was getting up so early. The service was great! We needed extra towels for the pool, no problem, the front desk had them right there. One of the movies we "rented" broke, no problem...we got another. The jaccuzi was down, but they were very apologetic and were working to get it fixed. We like that this motel has family units at about the cost of a single unit in other motels. The beds were comfortable, the rooms were spacious and clean, and the pool was sparkling. I can't wait to see the rennovations since our last visit.

Although an older motel, the renovation made the experience quite pleasant. Rooms were clean, the water was hot and the food at the restaurant good.

check in time 3pm after driving 9 1/2 we arrived at 3:30 the flipant front desk person told us room not ready "don't you have something you would like to do for a hour" also the people in the next room got the same response from the front desk person. The next day we got back to the room at 10minutes to 5 and the room had not be made up yet had to wait till 5 pm before we could get into room. Was supposed to be non-smoking but we could tell that the room had be perfumed to hide the smoke. One other thing if you stay take ear plugs you will need them to block out the traffice noise and the rooms adjoining .
