Travelodge Anchorage, Anchorage

The staff was rude to the point of hostile. The advertisement at the Anchorage Airport has the wrong hotel name. So you are looking for the wrong hotel name on the shuttle van. The driver refused to help with luggage when I have a broken leg and am on crutches. The clerk's response to being told that the advertisement has the wrong hotel name was to tell us to stay somewhere else with a smug look on her face, so ultimately we did. The lobby was filthy and the clerk was too stupid to operate the computer/printer. She had to call the manager to operate it, and when we told the manager how rude she was the manager had no concern about it whatsoever. Incredibly, when we told them the billboard at the airport had the wrong name, they asked us WHAT THEY WERE SUPPOSED TO DO ABOUT IT!!! Can you believe they are this STUPID?! How about telling the owner to FIX THE SIGN!!

Checked in at 12:00 am and out at 1:00 am. Could not stay there because of the other people staying there. Loud, drug using drunk people. This was after refusing to take first room offered because it was filthy.Tried to get a refund, but was refused. I think $100 a night should at least give you a clean room and a safe haven. Ended up sleeping at Fred Meyer in parking lot and felt safer. Would not recommend this hell hole to my worst enemy.

Don't be fooled by the "refurbished" advertisement; this motel is primarily for one-nighters who don't care much where they sleep (or don't sleep). Staff were polite but indifferent, service was haphazard, and the rooms had only the most basic amenities. An odd and somewhat depressing experience, but it was definitely cheap by Anchorage standards and very close to downtown - a plus. If economy is everything to you, by all means stay here, but if you expect things like regular cleaning and clock/radios in a motel, look elsewhere.
