Inlet Inn, Anchorage

I went to this place once for 10 min. I betcha all the positive reviews about this place were written by the owner....notice the broken engrish. This place is temp housing for ex-cons, homeless teens, drunks, and hookers. You couldn't pay me a cool billion to stay in this place for 2 hours. Everything about this building says demolish me and put up a parking lot. The rooms are trash like most of the locals that stay there, and the employees don't seem to have the words customer service in the Korean to English dictionary. The building is ran down, uncooth, and disgusting. And the unsavory people that frequent this establishment probably drive around Anchorage with a shovel and rope in the trunk looking for their next victem. Don't believe anything about this place thats positive, because it's horse poop if you believe it. Roll out the yellow police tape and block it off, cause this place needs to be demo'd.

This place is just NASTY! The shower was dirty, moldy and hair all over. The room stunk. Just Horrible!!! They try to charge me for 1 roll of toilet paper. OUTRAGOUS!!!!

I checked into this hotel and promptly called to find another one. The window opened to the sidewalk and the curtain did not cover the window. It smelled bad and I felt unsafe. Three other guests were in the lobby trying to get rooms changed becuase theirs was dirty.

The staff are great, and friendly. The location is accessible to downtown. My room was clean and a good deal for the $ spent. I'll refer to all my friends.

I don't think the proprietors understand the concept of a non-smoking room. Our room stunk and everything in my suitcase (even the clothes I ended up not wearing) needed to be washed when I got home to get the horrible smell out. Our toilet never worked, despite the fact that we reported it to the front desk at least once a day. We ended up having to go to another hotel to use their restrooms. I was afraid to walk on the carpet or in the bathroom with bare feet. The bed spread had at least 3 cigarette burns on it. The clientele is almost as scary as the rooms. I would not recommend this place for children or that a woman stay here by herself. My friend and I were routinely harassed or gawked at by other guests loitering in the lobby. We would have left, but all the other hotels in town were booked for the weekend.

Yes there could be work done to the place. But, once I figured out how to use the TV and the water stopped leaking from upstairs ( at least it was clean water!) I really enjoyed my stay. Nobody bugged me or made me feel in the way. The staff was wonderful. I'd actually stay there again. P.s. didn't see any rats.

This hotel was the worst building I have ever set foot in. Filthy, rat-infested, stained floors; horrid beds and bed-covers; terrible bathroom which was small dirty and moldy. The door to my room had been KICKED in, and glued back together. I left in disgust. Avoid at all costs.

The room I stayed in had shoddy carpet and a bathroom door that would not shut(I've never seen a wavey door frame before). The t.v. didn't have one clear channel, but it was probably manufactured sometime in the early eighties. Also, during my stay, Anchorage was having a heat wave. This made the room unbearable at night even with the window left open and a fan the front desk provided. At times, I had trouble finding parking spaces in the limited parking lot. A cheap room with a bed and a roof. If that's all you are looking for, then give it a shot. I don't see myself staying here again.

I've been in several hotels in the Anchorage Bowl and this one isn't too bad. There are things that they may want to do, like clean the carpets and fix some of the floors, and the showers in the bathroom aren't made for people over 5'10" tall (I have to duck to wash my hair), but it is a good value for the price and it's in downtown right across from the transit centre. You can't beat that. It's not the Captain Cook hotel, but it's not Nearly as terrible as Al's Alaskan Inn.
