Medical Center Inn, Birmingham

Room was clean and odorless; beds were comfortable. TV worked. The evening was quiet, but we were there during the week. Too cold to use the pool.

Me and my mom stayed here cause my sister was having surgery at the UAB Hospital. I DO NOT RECOMMEND this hotel. The staff is rude. The elevator is old and wore out. Sounds like it is trying to open the door in the process for moving up or down. There were NASTY DIRTY towels in front of our room door when we got there at midnight on the 9th of feb. We had no choice but to stay that night. But we checked out first thing the next morning. The shuttle to the hospital was not running. There was people screaming and yelling all night outside our door. The security guard was VERY RUDE!!!!!! If they are going to be a hotel for the hospital visitors then I suggest they do a renovation and do it soon. It was horrible. I WILL NOT EVER STAY THERE AGAIN NOR WILL I REFER ANYONE TO IT.. BEWARE it is not a clean or safe place to stay. The waffle house that is located inside is NASTY ... The workers did not have on hairnets or anything while preparing food. They were not friendly at all........

Good place to stay. Close to large number of doctor office, convenient.

The Medical Center Inn has not been affiliated with Best Western since May of 2006. We were given the a room that was occupied by someone. On second try we were given a room that smelled musty, had roaches and bath room floor and the wall and floor next to the inside bed was squishy wet and had been for a while due to line on the wall where it was soaked.. We were told at the front desk that everyone has roaches and that we needed to use the other side of bed until maintenance could come, which they never did... The good thing was they have a shuttle van to and from UAB Medical Center which saved everyone a parking fee... We did tip the drivers. The van itself was dirty but we did not have far to travel...

It was really in a good place. Not knowing our way around the area and having family members having major surgery on the same day. It was really a blessing to find them and the lady at the front dest was very helpful. We will be staying there again anytime we have to go back to UAB hospital for overnight visit. I will tell others about it and it also close to a nice place to eat without having to do a lot of driving around, after a long ride and all the walking you have to do over at the hospital

We came to B'ham to see Dave Ramsey LIVE at Bartow Arena in May and picked the Medical Center Inn for a one-night stay. The staff was wonderful and we had a complementary van service to and from our event at Bartow that evening. Our room was well appointed, clean and comfortable. In the afternoon we lounged by the pool and swam a bit in a comfortable clean environment. If staying in the UAB area again, we would not hesitate to stay at the Medical Center Inn. The customer service is so poor words can not describe it. Rude clerks, dirty rooms, poor housekeeping staff, poor computer systems.....PAY THE MONEY FOR THE MARRIOT

We were there in August....temps in the upper 90's and the air conditioner worked great. Beds were comfortable. The bathroom was very clean. Maid service was excellent. Got extra towels and cups when asked. Took only a few minutes to get to UAB weekend classes. Plan on staying every month there.

The cleanliness, location, and amenities were right for the price, however I didn't get a receipt when I turned in my room keys and was subsequently charged for a 5 night stay. I have never had this problem at any hotel including smaller hotels, but I learned my lesson here! Make sure you don't get stuck the same way.

This is not a fancy motel, but it is clean and conveniently located, especially if you need to be near the UAB Medical Center Complex. Just one block off I-65, and there's a free shuttle to all area hospitals which saves you money on parking fees. Certainly not the dream accomodations for your next luxury vacation, but a very good deal for the price.
