Microtel Inn and Suites Airport North San Antonio TX, San Antonio

Our adventure at this "Roach Coach Motel" began when we checked in. We arrived at 4:00 pm to be told we needed to wait an hour for the room to be cleaned. We waited. If only we had known what they meant by clean..... Room One: sheets were visibly dirty including a bug under one pillow. Called the desk and were told we could change our own sheets if we wanted new sheets. We refused and were moved to Room Two. Room Two: seemed cleaner but had ONE towel for four people and no wash rags. Meanwhile, our friends checked in and were given room one-- we went to look and Room One: was still dirty including the bug under the pillow and stains on the sheets. They were told there were no more rooms available, and so they changed their own sheets. Meanwhile we were back in room two.... Room Two: We were being attacked by FLEAS! My daughter had red welts on her back, so we called complaining about the bugs. The truly nice night manager who was doing his best to help us...offered to come kill the bug. When we explained further, he quickly got us a much cleaner looking room with four towels! Which leads us to... Room Three: We were reasonably pleased with this room by comparison BUT given previous adventures just couldn't deal with it anymore and decided to leave at 1:00 am and drive back home during the night. Reasons to not book: scarcity of linens dirty sheets smelly carpet uncomfortable beds small, cramped rooms Reasons to book: the property looks nice the night manager is great
