Nicely designed, well run
Le Germain is really stylishly done, with very comfortable, handsome rooms. The small gym up top is functional enough. With breakfast and broadband included in the room rate, it's pretty good value compared to other larger downtown-located chains.
The only drawback is that the rear-facing rooms back on to a block-long strip of restaurants and bars, and the earplugs put by the bedside do come in handy. And the neighborhood seems to be sort of under re-construction, with lots of new apartment buildings of a somewhat sterile design and lots of parking lots presumably awaiting the construction boom to reach their plots.
