Would not reccommend this hotel...
By ,
I stayed at Dreams with my friend and it was not what I was hoping for. My friend happened to be a “time share owner” so I think we were treated completely different than your “average” guest. Which was a huge sticking point for us. We were there during the week that it rained for 5 days straight (after not having rain for over 3 years). The hotel did nothing to “rally” the guests and keep them entertained. No blast messages as to activities, etc. It was a difficult time for everyone but they definitely could have been better with keeping their guests happy. They were also doing some work on the main pool (just a small section) so they opened up the “adults only” pool to everyone. That was another huge mess. When the rain was finally gone, the “adults only” pool was dark and dingy. The main pool was filled with bugs and just gross. We had to ask them 2 maintenance people to clean it. This was about 11 am (we had been there since 9:30 am). They said it’s cleaned daily (which was not true) but they finally skimmed it a bit. It still was not enjoyable at all! I truly would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

I'M BACKKKK Going from Dec 22nd - 29TH
By ,
The 8th and 9th reviews on this page were from myself 2 years ago when we traveled to Dreams with 25 family members. This time we have 30 going to Dreams and I will once again write the most honest review I can of this resort. We obviously loved it the 1st time around to go again 2 years later but no matter good or bad I will write down everything so no one will be left out since we have a group aged 10months to mid 60's going.

Never going back worst food ever
By ,
This place is a joke! They treat you real nice when you check in and that's about. There is another review that says (they have never heard the word no so much in there life) that's nailing it on the head! They play games to try to get more money out of you. And don't even get me started on the food BAD BAD BAD!! There are a million better places to go and to get married!

Do not recommend it.
By ,
The facilities at this hotel are gorgeous, but the people that work there are not very friendly nor helpful. I have never heard the answer "No" so much in my entire life, even to the simple question to the concierge of "Will you please print our plane boarding passes for us?" Instead he wanted us to use the hotel wi-fi service which is $30.00 an hour. He argued with us and would not meet our request until we got the manager who then told him to do it. He was just one of many rude people that worked there. This place also misrepresents itself on many aspects. They do not serve "Premium alcohol" as advertised. Instead they serve cheap brands such as Hornitas and Cuervo tequila. They don't even serve real Kahlua that is made in Mexico. Instead they serve a cheaper off brand. They offer TWO types of beer -- Negro Modelo and Corona that are on tap and served flat. The food was below average at most places, especially the Asian restaurant where it was just downright inedible. There was one good restaurant called Portofino which was an Italian restaurant and we had no complaints there except for the maitre d who was very snooty and let us in one night for dinner but then didn't want to let us in the next time because he didn't like my husband's non-leather sandals, which were the exact same ones he had been wearing the prior time we ate there. Also, this place advertises that it is a golf resort. It does not have its own golf course at all, just a very small putting green. You can set up golf through them to other courses, but we found out it is $100 cheaper if you go directly to the course instead of booking it through them. What??? What a deal, huh? You cannot swim on this beach and it is 25 minutes from town. You have to take the bus for $2.00 or a cab for $25.00 one way as this hotel does not have a shuttle service to anywhere. I would say though that my biggest complaint about this place is that the people that work there are very unpleasant and have been taught to say "It is my pleasure" even when they have not been cooperative, polite, or even met a simple request. I never want to hear that phrase again!

Addendum to Careful what you ask for! review
By ,
My husband forgot to add in his review that we were ostracized by the "tennis pro" after he urged us to join a free clinic and we decided within 2 minutes of him asking us that we didn't want to participate. Reasons being; He had an attitude, for one, and we didn't feel like taking a lesson. We just wanted to volley with one another. About 15 minutes later I was on the treadmill and the alleged tennis pro, Ira, gave me a dirty look when he walked by and then sarcastically said "I usually charge $75 a lesson and no one else was participating in the lesson so you guys could have had a $75 lesson for free. Why wouldn't you want that?" I was appalled that I would be confronted for doing what I want to do on MY vacation. Unbelievably rude. If you are looking for a booze fest, ok food (at best), ok service and a not very relaxing vacation then DREAMS is for you. For those of you who want to do what you want for YOUR vacation, without being harassed and like to rest w/o loud music or interruption (or have small children that need naps or go to bed before 11 pm), then DREAMS is not the place. Check out Esperanza or Las Ventanas. They are pricier, but you only end up paying about $800 - 1500 more dollars for the vacation you'll wish you had by the end of the trip. It's worth saving up longer to have the trip you really want versus settling for DREAMS.

Careful what you ask for!
By ,
We arrived at "Nightmares" Los Cabos around 3pm. We upgraded our room to the Honeymoon suite for US $100 per night. We had sushi the first night. The service was excellent, but the fish was ok at best. We had been travelling since 4:30am and decided to get to bed about 9pm. Unfortunately, we were unaware that every night there is an event that goes until 11pm. Good luck trying to sleep before that. I was a little warm, so I decided to throw the comforter off. When I did, I noticed a fairly large blood stain on the comforter. I pulled it off the bed and found another blood stain along with two large smears of dried blood. We were disgusted! We complained to the manager, who told us that he couldn't confirm that it was blood and that it could have come from one of us. We had no opened skin and it definitely was dried blood. We asked for some kind of compensation for the inconvenience. The manager told us that it he would not compensate us anything. He finally offered 1 one-day pass to their spa. Not 2 one-day passes, but 1. We declined and decided we were tired of pleading our case. We went to the buffet for breakfast and discovered the best thing about the hotel. Breakfast! We had breakfast there every morning. It was the best meal at the hotel. We learned on the first day that you can not just sit and relax anywhere. We grabbed a couple of recliners by the beach and tried to enjoy the sea. Within minutes we were asked, and then harassed by the staff to join a volleyball game. Then about 1 hour later we were hit up to do a beach walk. Everyday we were constantly bothered by the entertainment staff to do some activity or another. We finally found the "adult" pool where peace and quiet are supposed to reside. It was nice for 1 day. The next day we went to the "adult" pool where there was a couple who decided to bring their own stereo. Everyone at the pool had to listen to their music, which was incredibly annoying. We will never stay at Dreams...I mean Nightmares again. If you enjoy loud, crap music until at least 11pm every single night, constantly being asked (and not nicely) to join some activity, dirty sheets, and sub-par food, then Dreams Los Cabos is the place for you!

Honeymooners in Cabo!
By ,
We got married in Dec 04 and took our honeymoon shortly after. We were recommended this resort by our RCI directory. We couldn't have been happier! It was beautiful!!!! We were greeted and escorted to our room (accidentally gave him too large of a tip, due to the fact, i didn't know what the exchange rate was. LOL) We signed up for as many activities we could the next day. And we did everything we could...from moonlight cruise to ATVing in desert! We spent a day at the resort and just played ping pong, laid out by the gorgeous pool, walked the beach and order room service (which was speedy and excellent.) We toured Lover's beach, went whale watching on a yacht, and ate at an amazing lobster house, called Lozano Lobster! They have an open deck up above with all candle lit tables. So romantic

Back from the Xmas Vacation
By ,
As I stated last week we traveled with 25 people to Dreams. Ill go into detail everything you need to know to make your decision for you. The hotel itself is a good 15 drive from Cabo and 7 from San Jose. If you like to go to Cabo everyday you may need to get a hotel closer to Cabo. The hotel itself is very nice in many ways. The grounds are very well kept and always looked after everyday. The rooms are big and have plenty of room for even a bigger family who needs that extra space. The mini fridge is just that its mini with a few drinks stocked everyday no matter what. The pools are kept clean and crystal clear everyday and the open till it starts getting dark which is usually key to go change and go eat something. The service is exceptional especially (Elsa) pool waitress, (Moises) bartender and (Pepe) waiter. These 3 were the best and would run a marathon if you asked them too. If you travel don't be a cheap traveler, TIP TIP TIP. The nicer you are the more you will get. The room service was done twice a day and nothing was ever stolen since my brother and I had 3 computers on our table everyday and not once had to worry. The gym at this resort was one of the better ones i've been too with machines, free weights and cardio equipment for everyone. The spa was very nice, the massage was decent but the steam and sauna were great and could be used throughout the whole day of your massage. They have ping pong tables and pool tables if you need a break from the sun for a bit. The drinks were great and flowed every second you wanted it and since we did tip they knew what we wanted as we stepped up to the bars. The food was really good. The buffet was great everyday and it never was the same stuff and they always had lots to choose from. The Japanese restaurant was incredible the sushi was top quality and had a too much to eat. The italian restaurant was decent smaller portions but order 2 orders of everything and your fine. The seafood restaurant was also very good and had lots to choose from. The seaside grill had great lunches by the pool and the food was always cooked like we wanted it. We also received room service every night at 2 or 3am after a night of drinking and no matter what we ordered it came without a problem. If you want to drink all night and party with friends or family members this place is good till 1am then it seems to shut down. The nightclub Desires was ok but that's only because 15 of us adults went there almost every night. If you want a place with more of a nightlife than this is not the resort for you. SINCE it is all inclusive if someone comes up to offer you and your mom a friendly shot don't act like your better than anyone cause your not - had to vent cause this actually happened. The only people at this resort who weren't all inclusive were time share people who decided to be cheap and not get the all inclusive. There was many friendly and wonderful people we met because with a family of 25 doing tons of stuff together we got tons of questions and looks. We smoked cigars and many of them and only had a few people complain but they quickly got over it because its legal everywhere in the hotel. To summarize this all inclusive resort has many positives and only a few negatives and I definitely would rate this hotel a 4 star. Its never easy and almost impossible to please 25 people for all 7 days but for the most part it was done. I also have to finish with no matter what do not take naps during mid day that's when you meet the most interesting people at the resort

disapointed
By ,
Dress codes at resturants and they close the pool bars early. Food was average but didn't get to go to some of resturants because I onty took shorts to relax and it was so hot and humid you wouldn't want to wear pants. It was also to far from town and tasi rides aren't cheap. The rooms were very nice though. just to many rules for vacation! Not worth the all inclusive. Also you can't swim at the beach there.
