Alluvian, The, Greenwood

My wife and I went for an overnight trip to celebrate our anniversary. I had reserved one of the few suites of the 45 rooms. It did not disappoint. We arrived early and were greeted at the desk with a smile. She said oh yes, your here for your anniversary. I had arranged for chocolate dipped strawberrys and some bubbly. She said your room is ready, so we went upstairs and opened the door to a studding suite. The first room was a large sitting area with a large TV. Of that was a huge bathroom with a glass walkin shower, a separate room for the toilet, and a huge, deep two person hot tub with granite and marble everywhere. The master suite was huge with a king bed, two chairs, large TV and a gas fireplace. The room was so nice, you didn't even want to leave it. We had signed up for Viking Cooking School, which was also great fun. We will definitely return for another stay at the Alluvian.

I, unfoutunely, spent only a few hours in this hotel. I arrived late with a headache and then I had to leave early. The staff made me feel welcomed and comfortable. I spent the night on a bed that made me think I was sleeping on a cloud. This hotel is not for people looking for a cheap hotel It is not cheap in any way.

When entering downtown Greenwood, it like being somewhere else in the country. It is hard to imagine you're in the middle of the delta. From the hotel, to the spa, cooking classes, and speciality shops, this is truly an asset to this area. I recommend it to anyone!!!!

The Alluvian is a really old and historic hotel. If your looking for something old and historic, is the place to be; if you are looking for modern art, you might want to check in somewhere else. The Alluvian is GREAT!

Loved everything about this hotel. Plan to return again. Gorgeous rooms, a real treasure in Greenwood. Wonderful breakfast, and a great library of Southern writers, music and history.

The Rooms were spectacular, The bed was so comfortable, I actually went to the Alluvian store and bought the mattress topper they use. The staff is always available yet you never feel they are nearby. The food is as expected, elegant and delicious. The Location is "different" in that the Alluvian is where you would least expect it to be. In the middle of a small "delta" downtown, but the hotel and it's style is right out of New York city. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

I WAS SURPRISED WHEN I SAW OUR ROOM...IT WAS PURE LUXURY. THE STAFF WERE SUPERB! AND I TELL EVERYONE "YOU'VE GOT TO STAY THERE!, IT'S A HEAVENLY PLACE!" IF STAY THERE JUST ONCE-YOU'LL LOOK FORWARD TO GOING BACK!
