Can't believe they still have smoking rooms
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/27/09
When I made a reservation, I asked for a non-smoking room because I read reviews saying there were smoking rooms. I was specifically told that my reservation was for a non-smoking room. When I got to my room, I found that it was a smoking room! It smelled bad, but I couldn't be moved because the hotel was full. I had to go to Walmart and buy some Febreeze to spray down the room so my kids and I could sleep. It's 2009 - I can't believe there are still hotels that allow indoor smoking. Most smokers realize they have to go outside to do that. Why ruin your rooms and equipment with allowing smoking inside?

Very Nice Experience
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/12/09
We recently stayed here for a 3-day vacation in Gettysburg. It is out of the busy town square area (conveniently located near a grocery store, gas station, and restaurants) but only a short drive from all of the important things to do. Very spacious room, extremely clean, and the staff was very pleasant. We had a relaxing, comfortable stay!

Nice Hotel
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/29/08
My husband and I stayed for Remembrance Day weekend. We thought the room was very nice. The only problem was the heating system. I couldn't get the room comfortable. It was either too warm or too cool. Also, we had reserved for 3 nights, but changed it to 2 with a late checkout. I spoke to the person at the desk on Saturday afternoon. When I went back to the desk on Saturday night for something else, I mentioned the checkout and found out it hadn't been changed. We liked the computer room. I love to swim and did have the pool to myself, but it is too SMALL. It was also chilly in the pool and the pool room. I said something at the desk, but nothing was done. The maintenance man came in to check the chemicals while I was there. I questioned him about the temperature and he said it was the right temperature-84 degrees. The thermometer said it was 83. I gave up on that. All in all the problems were minor things. It is a clean and attractive hotel. We wanted to stay there again for Remembrance Day weekend in 2009, but I found the price went from $79 a night to $159. So, that is out.

Too much noise
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/22/08
We spent two nights here and the noise was just too much. We were on the third floor and in an odd numbered room putting us overlooking the front of the hotel and its' heating and airconditioning system. Oh, my....noisey! The room had a fan that automatically switched on and off all night and that combined with the air cond in the room AND outside was terrible. It is a shame because the room itself was wonderful. The king size bed was heaven . The hotel is a short distance from the action intown g-burg which I liked. We would stay here again but would ask for a room away from the HAVC system, probably an even numbered room.

Not too Bad
By drwyse570, 05/26/08
Went to Gettysburg for a 4 day vacation. The hotel is beautiful. First the bad things. 1) I reserved 2 rooms under my name at the same time, so they could be next door to each other. Instead, they put the rooms at opposite ends of the hall. What's the point? 2) The pool is very small, but not too bad. 3) The whirlpool is probably the worst one I have ever been in. It was warm and clean, but the jets were terrible. 4) There is no continental breakfast available. Okay, now the good things. 1) The hotel, like I said before, is beautiful. 2) Everything is very clean and the staff is nice. 3) There is a restraunt and bar in the lobby where you can eat breakfast or supper. Plus, you can order room service. The breakfast is $10.00 and they make your breakfast to order and bring it right out to you, fast!! They have a very large variety of breakfast items. 4) Each room has a flat screen TV and a nice desk. 5) Nice workout facility. 6) The bed is extremely comfortable!! All in all, I will probably go back again.

Ants in my Room!
By Lily, 07/18/07
The Hilton Garden Inn had friendly staff. The pool is VERY small. Hot tob had scummy stuff floating in the foam (I did not get in). Location is not far from the Visitior's Center, but there are lots of lights and traffic. I had a third floor room and we had ants! My daughter woke up with an ant in her bed in the morning! They switched our room for our last night there, but offered a minimal discount from my bill. I moved a few bags out of our original room and kept them in the car, so as not to take the ants with me.

Great Hotel
By FranP, 05/25/07
The room was lovely and clean. If you are here on business they could accomodate your needs. The pool was small but nice and well maintained. Room service was great. The staff was helpful and polite.
