Terribly disappointed!

My family stayed at the Mansion over Mother's Day weekend and though we love Savannah and the restaurants we chose were wonderful, our experience at the Mansion was poor at best. We would return to Savannah but NOT stay at the Mansion again. The service was poor and at times rude, almost as if we were putting them out to request a taxi, clean towels, or bar service. Upon arrival, NO ONE offered to help with bags as we were registering. The rooms were not clean - actually, we found ribbon, half used toiletries, and dirt/dust piled under the beds in all three rooms. The beds were not even made properly during the day. My son ordered a taxi which never showed to take him to the airport and was told that there was no record of the request, though I was standing there when he made the request at the front desk. We literally had to chase down someone to serve drinks or snacks poolside. The Mother's Day brunch was poorly managed as well. It took 45 minutes to have bread put on the table. When I made the brunch reservations, I was told there would be a regular breakfast menu and no special menu was being served. This turned out not to be correct as well. The brunch menu was heavy meats ( the prime rib ordered by my husband) was mostly grizzle, and the oysters were over cooked and served on a bed a sea salt which looked like grits - my daughter ended up eating the salt and that was the end of her meal. It was also VERY costly for 6 of us.
There were two employees who did help and were quite accommodating - Shatisha (arranged for car service around town) and Josh, who helped with food and drink on Friday as well as Saturday at the bar.
We participated in the Cooking School and Chef Darin was great!. The class was informative, fun, and tasty. It was the highlight of our stay.
I am hopeful that corporate management gets to read this review. We returned to the Mansion because we our previous visits a few years ago was wonderful. We were sadly disappointed this time around.
